It's been a bit since we've been back and the thought of heroes existing constantly runs through my mind. How fast will they act when it comes to someone like me being in the picture?
Everything is interrupted when Aria speaks up. "Heroes? We'll be okay, I'm sure of it. I know I'm strong, just need to get used to my magic again." Aria says with confidence.
Dealing with heroes isn't something I want to deal with necessarily but if I need to then I will. No matter what I have to get stronger somehow to move along in this world.
I need to come up with a name for this thing so I'm not just calling it some device every single time. There also needs to be a bit more power in it as well so what can I do to enhance it more?
"Yes we'll be able to handle anything that comes our way." Mason responds with a positive attitude.
In reality I'm fighting against most of the world to prove that people like me are allowed to be here but it'll be worth it in the end.
Either way I need to focus on getting stronger with and without this device so I'll go back to training in my room for a bit.
Just like that he went back to his training since he wasn't like others who could just get stronger with magic enhancements. He had to physically train with all sorts of exercises and sword techniques in case he needed a blade.
His strength alone was getting pretty powerful over the weeks that passed so far but would it be enough for him to start traveling?
Knock. Knock. Someone could be heard knocking at his door. "Come in." He says while getting up from the floor.
It was Lucy, she appeared to be pretty happy about something. "I believe you two are ready to journey out further but you still need to be careful no matter what." Lucy speaks with a bit of caution in her voice.
Back out into the world huh? Something I can never prepare enough for. I will have to keep up with everything each day as I travel though.
"Of course. I'll always be cautious when I'm traveling. Stay safe as well Lucy." Mason says with a smile on his face.
Being positive in a position like mine is always hard but I know mom wouldn't want me to be negative about this. That's why I'm doing my best to avoid the path of vengeance no matter what.
She wouldn't want that for me, she'd want me to prove them wrong.
Is vengeance really that bad to pursue?
"Did someone say something?" Mason questions while looking around.
I swear I heard something a moment ago but I guess it was nothing. Just stay focused on what needs to be done.
I've got to go get Aria since we'll be leaving today then, everything I need is already packed since I don't have much to begin with.
He quickly went to get Aria since the two of them would have quite the journey ahead of them. He also had a decent cloak that concealed his inability to use magic thanks to Lucy.
She was an expert with magical items so she made sure he'd have a bit of time before being pursued.
"We're leaving today huh?" Aria asks with a curious look on her face.
"Yes." Mason answers.
I don't entirely know where I'm going yet but that's the whole point of a journey right? Seeing what you can find along the way while pursuing our goal of changing the world for the better.
Will I even be able to kill someone or something if it comes to it? There's a lot of things I haven't figured out if I'll be capable of doing until I get there.
Back then I was sure that I could kill that assassin if I really tried but it didn't end that way whatsoever. Just left me with this scar, something to remind me I wasn't strong enough to save them.
"Good luck Mason, keep that girl safe." Lucy chimes in.
The two of them look back and give a nod before leaving the treehouse once again. The road ahead would be rough but no one knows what awaits them.
Lots of people will try to kill Mason the moment he's discovered to be powerless and Aria is still a mystery to most. Her memory will be the biggest thing that makes everyone question what's true or not.
Four days of traveling go by. (Just entering the Village of Hestin.)
A small village with a decent amount of people roaming around talking, setting up their shops, and tending to their animals.
This place doesn't seem all that bad, kind of reminds me of home in a way but I don't know how far I was sent. Whatever dad used back then didn't really say much about the destination.
Lucy also kept quiet about a lot of things when it came to the distance so I don't know what to expect here. I just know that now I'm at the village of Hestin. This place doesn't seem all that bad right now but I definitely see people using magic.
Aria's eyes are looking all around in awe as she witnesses everything. "I can't believe such a cute place like this is the first place we arrive at." Aria says cheerfully.
I'm glad she's excited about it but I still need to keep an eye out for anything suspicious around here. You don't know what lurks in the shadows, especially in a village like this right?
I guess a lot of the books I read taught me a lot about how the world is in a way. Humans aren't necessarily the greatest thing to exist.
"It is quite nice here." Mason agrees while observing the surroundings.
Something seemed to be happening though as the villagers began to gather around someone.
