"We've found her, miss, but... just tune in to your TV." His advice sent a chill down my spine. Arianna gave me a wordless look of confusion. I grabbed the remote and turned the TV on.
A foreboding aura loomed over the living room as I held my breath, watching the news anchor.
"Breaking news, I'm Vanessa West, and we interrupt your regular programming to bring you this tragic update. Reports are coming in of a devastating accident on Kingston Bridge, resulting in the loss of two lives..." The news anchor's voice droned on.
Arianna stood up, shaking her head in denial. I stood with her, offering comfort as best I could.
"...a woman in her mid-20s identified as the missing Nadia Gatti and an unidentified man were found dead. We'll keep you updated as more information comes in..."
Arianna's eyes widened, and she turned to me, desperate for reassurance. "It's not my baby sister they're talking about, right?" she pleaded, looking for any escape from this reality.
