The Third Dinner with the Alger Family.
If the first dinner was an arranged meeting that didn't receive the warmest welcome, and the second one wasn't much different, then this third dinner felt somewhat unusual. This time, Alger and Lily had unintentionally worn matching outfits. There was no prior agreement or intention to coordinate, yet somehow, they had chosen clothes of the same color.
Lily glanced awkwardly at her brown dress.
"I'll go change."
"No need!" Alger stopped her, grabbing her wrist.
"Why change? Do you want to keep my parents waiting? We're already ten minutes late; let's not make it thirty. You should know that my father hates it when people waste time."
Due to Alger's insistence, Lily ultimately decided to go as she was, dressed in a matching outfit with him.
