"John, are you out of your mind? Let go of me! You'll get people's attention. What if someone comes?" I blurted out again, looking at the IV needle stuck in the back of my hand. "John, the blood is rising!"
John glanced in the same direction, chuckled in annoyance, got off the bed, and adjusted my IV until the blood was no longer pooling in the tube.
"You're a doctor. You should be able to handle this. And if anyone comes... to hell with them." He grumbled as he busily adjusted my IV. When it was all done, he sat on the edge of the bed, turned to me, and removed the tie that was gagging my mouth. "How are you feeling?"
I didn't answer and chose to look away. I occasionally glanced over, noticing John wore only underwear, then looked away from him. "At least put your clothes on first. You're embarrassing me."
"Come on, Clara. We've done it before. Over and over again. How can you still be embarrassed?" he snapped.
