Wind and frost?
Kudamon was momentarily stunned—he hadn't expected this Angewomon to be so unexpectedly refined in speech.
But comparing setbacks to mere wind and frost, beyond just poetic elegance, carried a sense of unwavering dominance—one that treated all obstacles as nothing more than a cold breeze.
Was this… really an Angewomon?
The thought once again surfaced in Kudamon's mind.
An unshakably firm belief in holiness, coupled with a now-revealed mentality that viewed all hindrances as mere gusts of wind—what kind of extraordinary Angewomon was this?
The more Kudamon pondered, the more he anticipated what kind of form this Angewomon would evolve into in the future. Perhaps… a brand-new Ultimate-level Digimon?
But for now, as a Royal Knight, he couldn't let a single failure bring him down.
A Sleipmon would never bow to adversity!
Kudamon steadied himself, allowed a small smile, and said, "Thank you, Angewomon."
Moss chuckled and continued, "Now that the human world has officially recognized Kurata as an enemy, and he is also the enemy of the Digital World, we now have a common enemy. This cooperation between both worlds in hunting him down will lay the foundation for future peace."
Though she, too, had hoped to eliminate Kurata in this operation, the reality was that they had failed. But since the setback was not due to a lack of strength or tactics, there was no point in dwelling on it.
Rather than regret, it was better to launch a large-scale pursuit.
Captain Satsuma, hearing Moss's words, couldn't help but think of historical war strategies. This Angewomon's understanding of human conflict might even surpass that of many actual humans.
Back when they first met, she had claimed ignorance of the human world. Clearly, that was a lie—at most, she just wasn't familiar with the city layout.
As he pondered, Captain Satsuma nodded. "Angewomon is right."
Kudamon's spirits had already improved significantly, and hearing his partner agree with Angewomon's assessment only further reassured him. Though Kurata had escaped, this event had pushed both worlds one step closer to true cooperation.
Seeing this, Moss struck while the iron was hot. "Then let's have a feast!"
"Now? Is that really appropriate?" Kudamon was taken aback.
Although his mood had improved, they had still technically failed their mission. Was celebrating really the right choice?
Moss grinned. "It's to boost morale."
Kudamon glanced at the DATS members and suddenly understood. "I see."
A person's emotions could influence many things—especially their DigiSoul, which in turn affected their combat effectiveness.
To keep fighting, they needed to raise morale.
"A feast it is!"
"Yeah—!!"
The banquet was held in the DATS cafeteria. There weren't any particularly fancy dishes, but the point was to enjoy the atmosphere.
Happy times always passed quickly. After the party ended, those who were tired went to rest, those on duty grabbed a cup of coffee and resumed work, and those who had school the next day rushed out the door…
Kudamon didn't stay perched on Captain Satsuma's shoulder as he normally did. Instead, he approached Moss, Astamon, and the other Digimon.
"I'm heading back to the Digital World for a bit. Do you all want to come with me?"
He planned to report Kurata's actions to the god of the Digital World—Yggdrasil, the World Tree. He also aimed to request additional Royal Knights to aid in hunting down Kurata, further strengthening the bond between both worlds.
Thus, he needed to return to the Digital World—and he might as well bring Moss and the other Digimon along, as they had originally wished to return home.
Astamon and the others turned to look at Moss.
They had long since regarded her as their leader. If she was going back, so would they.
If not? Well, it wasn't a big deal either.
After all, DATS headquarters had one major advantage—free Digimon food.
If they returned to the Digital World, they would have to find food themselves.
Getting free meals just by staying here? Not bad at all.
Moss said, "We're going."
When she had rescued Astamon and the others, she had promised to send them back home.
A promise was a promise—she would see this through to the end.
…More importantly, she might be able to increase her evolution rate toward Seraphimon and Santamon.
By mimicking the actions of her desired evolution path, she could increase the probability of achieving that form.
She decided to name this strategy Role-Playing Evolution Method.
"Do we need to prepare anything?" Kudamon asked.
Moss turned to Astamon and the others. "Bring some Digimon food with you."
"Yes, boss!" Astamon and the others responded in unison.
Half an hour later, Astamon, Mushroomon, Gekomon, Otamamon, and Kunemon were each carrying backpacks filled with canned Digimon food.
After completing their preparations, they gathered at the DATS teleportation platform.
"Let's get going."
Captain Satsuma would be traveling with Kudamon.
Hiromi Shirakawa called out, "Coordinates locked in!"
Miku Kurozaki added, "Beginning teleportation cooldown."
"Bio-energy generator, activated!"
"Digital harmonization system, linked!"
"Security protocol, disengaged!"
"Teleportation, commence!"
Compared to the spatial distortion bombs that violently tore through dimensional barriers, the teleportation device only made a slight impact—like the difference between hacking a hole with an axe and pricking a needle through fabric.
A flash of light filled the room, and in the next instant, everyone had entered the Digital World.
This was Moss's first time stepping foot into this world she had heard so much about. For a moment, she felt like she had returned to Fairy Tail's world.
Compared to the human world, the Digital World was dazzlingly vibrant—like a true fantasy realm, bearing some resemblance to her former home.
"We have somewhere to go, so we won't be able to accompany you further," Kudamon said, before evolving into Sleipmon and flying off with Captain Satsuma toward Yggdrasil's domain.
Moss watched Sleipmon depart until it vanished into the horizon.
Though honestly, Sleipmon was so fast that it only took a few seconds for him to disappear completely.
Shifting her focus, she immediately opened her evolution status panel.
[Seraphimon: 6%]
[Santamon: 2%]
Successfully delivering the Digimon home had increased her probability by another 1%.
The Role-Playing Evolution Method was working!
Moss was pleased, but seeing Santamon's 2%, she sighed.
"Only 2%… At this rate, I'll have to do ninety-eight more good deeds before I can evolve into Santamon…"
Even harder than those Eighty-One Trials!
Technically, if she got lucky, just a few more percentage points could allow her to draw the evolution.
After all, she had obtained Myotismon and Zombieman Satan Mode when their probabilities were only 10%.
But ultimately, it all came down to luck.
And luck… was unpredictable.
When fortune shines, the heavens align; but when it fades, even heroes are powerless.
Rather than gamble on luck, Moss preferred to trust in percentages.
Time to do more good deeds.
Sensing Moss's frustration, Angewomon's consciousness reassured her, "Actually, doing good deeds also strengthens our Holy Power. And as it grows stronger, we'll find it much easier to master Holy Bubbles."
"That so…" Moss's motivation soared.
Then came an even bigger surprise.
The next day, Sleipmon returned.
And he brought news.
"Angewomon, Yggdrasil has appointed you as the Digital World's official ambassador to the human world."
Moss froze.
…World Tree, you're seriously doing this?!
