We now cut to the scene where they are in the apartment of Monica. Monica, Phoebe, Joey, and Chandler are watching the TV where the show, while you can see Gabe reading a thick medical book and it was nearly 2000 pages and he was reading it as if he was scanning it, the NZT-48 influenced brain is working as he cannot hear any background noise that everyone was making, after a few minutes, he brought down the book.
"Ohh, are we too noisy?" Asked Joey, who noticed that Gabe put down the book he started reading just 1 hour ago.
"No, I finished it already," Gabe replied to Joey.
"Finished it? That's impossible, you said you just started reading it an hour ago, then you're telling me that you already finished it," Joey asked.
"I read differently, actually, I have photographic memory so I can remember everything I read, also I have a high functioning brain, too high functioning in fact that my parents thought I had autism, you know the one with savant syndromes," Gabe said.
"Yeah, he's always like that, he helped me review for my finals in high school when he was 6 years old and he was hopping grade levels," Monica added, clearly being proud of him.
"Well, what do you know, I'm smart, I will become a doctor, and start a business and become rich," Gabe said ambitiously, while Chandler and Phoebe are just watching the show, not caring for the trio that was talking, clearly having idea on how smart he is considering their long term relationship with Ross and Monica.
"Could this show be any more dramatic?" Chandler muttered to himself, eyes still glued to the screen.
Meanwhile, Ross was getting a drink from the kitchen, where Rachel was, having a conversation with her father,
"C'mon, Daddy, listen to me! All of my life, everyone has always told me, 'You're a shoe! You're a shoe, you're a shoe, you're a shoe!'. And today I just stopped and I said, 'What if I don't wanna be a shoe? What if I wanna be a-a purse, y'know? Or a hat! No, I'm not saying I want you to buy me a hat, I'm saying I am a ha- It's a metaphor, Daddy!"
"You can see where he has confusion."
"Maybe I will stay here with Monica," Rachel said to his Dad.
"Well, I guess we established that she will be living here?"
"Wait a minute, is this your way of saying I was getting kicked out?" Gabe asked Monica
"Ohhhh right, I forgot you live here, you're always so quiet that I always forgot, why not just live with Ross? Hey!! ROSS, want to take Gabe away?" Monica said to Gabe while yelling at Ross.
"Hey, I'm not just some toy that you can toss if you get sick of me," Gabe said to Monica.
"So, you don't want to move in with Ross?" Monica then asked Gabe
"No, I did not say that, I wanted to move in with him since you know you're a girl, and living with your sister is kinda lame, and also you kinda remind me of Mom", Gabe said to Monica
"Hey, I'm cool, you know, unlike Mom, plus I'm not that bad."
"RIGHT!!" everyone said at the same time, except for Rachel, who was still talking to his Father.
"Is that you're decision?" Rachel's father said into the phone.
"Maybe it is my decision," Rachel said back
"I'm not gonna fund your little independence thing."
"Well, maybe I don't need your money," Rachel said to his father.
"If that's you're decision I'm gonna cut you off!!" Doctor Green said into the phone.
"Wait!! Wait, I said maybe!!" Rachel said hurriedly while hanging up the phone.
After a few moments, we can see the whole gang in the kitchen, where we can see Rachel having a panic attack and breathing into the paper bag.
"Just relax, alright? You are hyperventilating, you're gonna pass out." Gabe said to Rachel while tapping her back.
"Well, my life is falling apart, just like my supposed wedding did," Rachel said.
"I thought you didn't want to marry that Barry?" Monica asked.
"Right!!," Rachel said Forgetting.
The gang is just standing in the kitchen, where Phoebe sings 'My Favorite things' while not remembering the whole lyrics, talking about how great independence from her parents is, also, Joey tried to hit on her but was shot down by Monica, when suddenly the door buzzer sounds.
"Please don't do that again. It was so horrible. Who is this?" Chandler asked through the intercom.
"It's, uh, it's Paul," the one on the door answered.
"Buzz him in," Monica said
"Who's Paul?" Joey asked.
"Wait a minute? The no details to talk about, is Paul the wine guy? from your restaurant? he finally asked you out?", Gabe said with a barrage of question.
"Wait. Your not a real date tonight is with Paul the Wine Guy?" Joey added to the questioning.
"Yes, he did!!!!!"
"Ooh, this is a Dear Diary moment," Chandler said, while Ross was also happy for Monica.
"Ohh. I can cancel, Rach, if you want." Monica said to Rachel, not wanting to cancel, but said to be polite.
"No, it's okay. Please go!" Rachel said
"You, Ross, I can stay too if you like," Monica then said to Ross.
"That'd be great," Ross said, biting the bait Monica lures.
"Really?" Monica said, mortified.
"NO!!, IT'S PAUL THE WINE GUY, GO!!!!" Ross said to Monica. It was the same time that a knock on the door was heard.
"Hi, come in! Paul, this is, everybody, everybody, this is Paul." Monica introduced them one by one after that.
"Hi Paul!!, How are you?" Some said, while others just said Hi.
"Hello!" Paul greeted back.
"Two seconds, I promise," Monica said to Paul, then turned back to his friends.
"You all settled in? Can you take care of the house, please?" Monica said after grabbing her purse.
"YES! Just go," Everyone said at the same time.
"Let's go, Paul," Monica said as they both left.
After they left, the gang had a conversation.
"So, what are your plans for later"? Ross asked Rachel
"Considering I was kinda supposed to be headed for Aruba on my honeymoon, so nothing!" Rachel said.
"Right, you're not even getting your honeymoon, God.. No, no, although, Aruba, this time of year... talk about your- (THINKS) -big lizards... Anyway, if you don't feel like being alone tonight, Joey, Gabe, and Chandler are coming over to help me put together my new furniture." Ross invited Rachel to their furniture building
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to say no, thanks for the invite though," said Rachel, not wanting to assemble furniture.
"I will remove my things in there in the meantime, to get you settled in, since I'm going to move in with Ross". Gabe then said, while going inside the room to get all of his books, but not before hearing Phoebe say.
"Oh, I wish I could, but I don't want to."
After packing and with only 2 suitcases worth of Clothes and a lot of books, where Chandler, Ross and Joey helped carry to Ross's apartment, they then started getting started.
"So this is supposed to be here, and this is supposed to be there, so you can be sure that the entire structure does not fall out," Gabe said, directing Ross after reading the Manual.
"Hey, Gabe, what about this? Extra part? Do you know where to put it?" Chandler then asked about Gabe, who, in turn, read the entire manual and disassembled and reassembled the entire bookcase.
"All finished in the bookcase," Gabe said,
"Ross, let me ask you a question. She got the furniture, the stereo, the good TV- what did you get?" Joey then asked Ross.
"You guys."
"What? What kind of lawyer do you have? " Gabe said
"Oh man you got screwed." Chandler and Ross then said after Gabe.
"You know what the scariest part is? What if there's only one woman for everybody, y'know? I mean, what if you get one woman- and that's it? Unfortunately, in my case, there was only one woman-for her..." Ross said to them.
"What a load of bullshit you are, that's just depression talking," Gabe said.
Joey: "What are you talking about? 'One woman? ' That's like saying there's only one flavour of ice cream for you. Lemme tell you something, Ross. There are lots of flavours out there. There's Rocky Road, and Cookie Dough, and Bing! Cherry Vanilla. You could get 'em with Jimmies, or nuts, or whipped cream! This is the best thing that has ever happened to you! You got married, you were, like, what, eight? Welcome back to the world! Grab a spoon!" Joey then added a rather confusing metaphor.
Gabe: "Exactly, you are just saying that because you got dumped, but you will see that you will find another one that is for you, and hopefully you do not screw it up or you know not lesbian."
Ross: "Grab a spoon. Do you know how long it's been since I've grabbed a spoon? Do the words 'Billy, don't be a hero' mean anything to you? Y'know, here's the thing. Even if I could get it together enough to ask a woman out,... who am I gonna ask? "
Gabe:" That's for you to find out, maybe Rachel? You have crush on her since forever, right?"
Ross: " Yeah, maybe I will.
Gabe then settled in Ross' apartment, where they assembled a two-bed in one bedroom, and Gabe started to get ready to sleep.
In the morning, after waking up, Gabe decided that he would read all of the subjects in his first-year classes to get ahead, so he went to the library at Cornell that can be accessed by all of the students, it took him the whole day to read every foundations of learning he would need in his Pre-med, and M.D. he finished the First year subjects early so he just decided to continue reading until it was near nighttime, after that he packed up and went to Monica's Apartment where he found a very strange scene.
It was Rachel with a pair of scissors in his hand and a card where everyone was chanting cut!, cut! cut!
"What the hell is going on?" Gabe asked them.
"We are teaching Rachel to be independent from his father's money, and to start, she should cut her cards."
"Well in that case, CUT!, CUT! CUT! CUT!," Gabe then joined the chant where Rachel started cutting them all up one by one, after cutting all of her cards, they all cheered.
"Welcome to the real world!!!, It sucks. You're gonna love it," Monica said to Rachel while hugging her.
Eating dinner and watching the movie, Rachel then finds Paul's watch and is told to leave it on the floor. Monica then stomped at the watch, and Gabe went home with Ross, but before that, Ross and Rachel had a conversation about possibly asking her out in the future. Before leaving, Monica then came out and asked why Ross had a smile on his face.
"See ya.... Waitwait, what's with you?" Monica then asked Ross
"I just grabbed a spoon," Ross said.
"What does that mean?" Monica then asked.
"Just guys thing, don't worry about it." Gabe then answered.
Next, we see them sitting at the coffee shop where Joey was saying something, and Phoebe was repeating his words while singing.
"Stop that, please," Gabe asked Phoebe.
"Oh, was I doing it again?" Phoebe asked, then suddenly Rachel walked in with a pot of coffee in her hands.
"Would anybody like more coffee?" Rachel asked as she was the server.
"Did you make it, or are you just serving it?" Chandler asked.
"Just serving," Rachel said.
"I'll have a cup of coffee," Gabe said, followed by everyone.
"Kids, new dream... I'm in Las Vegas. I'm Liza Minelli," Chandler said to start a new conversation.
