The cops pulled him outside. I could see him through the thick glass barrier separating us—the court had already decided his fate earlier that Wednesday.

I stared at him in his prison uniform, struggling to keep my composure. Trying to fit in I speak,
Hescoffed.
*"I've only been here a few days. Look, I don't have much to say to you. I already apologized sincerely from the heart."*
*"It's not about that,"* I choked out. *"I just want to know… why? Why would you do something so terrible to me after all my loyalty?"*
**SLAM!**
My fist hit the table with a loud crash as tears streamed down my face. He refused to meet my gaze.
*"You know something, Misaki?"* His voice was cold. *"Not everyone loves you as much as you think. The industry isn't kind. I was just following orders to revive my dying career."*
*"So you sold me out?"* My voice trembled. *"After everything I've done for you? Is it BDSM? Or, The videos you took frequently when we are making love together? Or the money—I gave you whenever you asked! I just… I don't understand!"*
My words dissolved into sobs. If we weren't in police custody, I might have killed him and myself I thought.
He leaned closer to the glass, his eyes burning into mine.
*"That's what I've always wanted to ask you. Why? Why were you so loyal? Every time I hurt you, you stayed. Is it love, or are you just stupid?"*
Silence hung between us. His gaze demanded an answer.
*"I'm not stupid,"* I replied. *"It's because of what you did for me back then… when I was a trainee at the agency, it might seems insignificant to you, but you saved me and my dream. You stopped me from killing myself."*
He sighed deeply, slumping back in his chair.
*"Seriously, Misaki… I don't recall helping you at all."*
