Chapter 32
They reach the castle, and Kyle looks at the old structure. This is one of the relics of the past; it was built in the old era, even older from the perspective of the old Earth. But by a miracle, it survived the explosion, and then the monsters' era, and then the wars.
When all calmed down, the people with the new technologies available to them made the castle habitable again and even stronger than it was at the beginning. Now it's reinforced with magic and barriers that could withstand even hits from Destroyer Stage 2 Fighters.
"It really is a wonder of our time, this castle. Every time I see it, it looks even better and more awe-inspiring than the last time."
They land at the entrance, and the guards salute the City Ruler.
Aurora nods at them, and then they go inside. After a while, they reach the central room, where all the big shots are. Inside, they can see the entire battlefield on screens, and they are discussing the next course of action. When they see the two City Rulers enter, everyone goes quiet.
Aurora goes and takes the seat at the end of the long table, pointing toward Kyle to sit in the chair at the other end, which is brought by a helper.
Then Aurora introduces Kyle:
"This is Kyle Storm, the Ruler of the Third Empire. He managed to repel the invasion in his Empire and now is here to help us."
The men sitting at the table look at him with varying expressions. Some with admiration: "He managed to save his Empire so soon; he must be strong. It's good that he's here." Others with judgmental looks: "How did he manage to save his Empire so quickly? I think the attacking forces were the weakest of them all. Now that he's saved his Empire, he wants to profit by helping the other Empires. He's an old fox who wants some benefits from us."
All of them have thoughts like that—both good and bad. Kyle looks at them and knows what they are thinking, but he's used to seeing men like that, especially those who have been in power for a long time.
Then Kyle speaks:
"I managed to save my Empire because of a few strong friends, and now they are at the other Empires, helping, trying to save as many lives as possible. We don't want anything from you; we only want to help push back this invasion."
"Right now, the strongest of us is at the Fifth Empire. When he is done saving them, he will come here and help us. Then I will go with him to the other Empires, and so on. Until we save Earth, and then we will go to the other planets in the Milky Way, all the way to the Royals' planet, where the strongest attacking forces of the Devils and the Dark Beings are concentrated."
The people at the table change their expressions in an instant, and only shocked faces remain. One of the men asks:
"Why do you want to risk your lives by going and helping the other planets? Even going where the strongest forces are?"
Kyle looks at the man and answers:
"Because that is what we want to do. There is no special reason or some 'Hero Wannabe' beliefs. We just want to do that, simple as that."
Then a carefree smile appears on his face, which, to the others, looks really 'foreign'. They've forgotten what it's like to do something just because they wanted to.
Then Aurora speaks:
"A noble goal, the few going against the many, trying to save all they can. Even if here we're talking about a galaxy scale, and a few aren't showing on the radar, they can still be a spark that could turn into an all-burning fire."
She smiles at him and then changes the subject:
"Now, what can we do about the crisis here? How can we 'win'?"
Kyle also asks something:
"How strong are the Royals? And what powers do they have?"
Aurora answers him:
"The She-Dark Being Royalty can mimic the powers of others for a limited period, but she can mimic the full extent of the other party's powers. We don't know the time limit for sure, but we think she can mimic for at least an hour."
"And the She-Devil can use fire, but a blue fire that can both burn and freeze. She can use it however she wants."
Kyle looks like he's in thought, takes a moment, and then answers:
"These two will be a little tricky to beat, but not impossible. Especially since Aurora is the perfect counter to the She-Devil."
"I will take on the She-Dark Being Royalty. I'll keep her occupied, and Aurora will keep the She-Devil in check."
The people at the table look at Kyle with disappointed expressions, then one of them says:
"We already tried this strategy; it didn't end well for us. The She-Dark Being Royalty is a real headache. One moment she uses wind to attack, the next moment she changes to water attacks, and then she uses mind attacks. It's really hard to keep her in check with so many different powers she can choose from."
Then Kyle smiles and says:
"We don't need to go for the kill. We only need to keep them busy until our help arrives. Of course, if we have a chance to kill them, we will take it, but we will fight with the intention to stall. And that gives us a few more options."
The people at the table look at one another and then at Aurora because the Ruler has the last word. So they wait to see Aurora's decision.
Aurora looks at Kyle, then at the rest of the men at the table, and says:
"We will go with Kyle's plan. Prepare everything he needs."
Then the buzz of working people starts to be heard. Once something is decided, the rest is easy—it only needs to be applied.
Kyle and Aurora fly to the edge of the barrier and look down at the fighting people. Some manage to kill one or two Dark Beings or Devils, but then ten of them die. Aurora says:
"We need to hurry. My people won't last long like this."
Kyle nods and then sees the barrier in front of them disappear, just enough for the two of them to get out.
After getting out, they look at one another, then start falling, and when they land, the earth explodes. The shockwave sends the Devils and the Dark Beings flying away from them on all sides. Then they get up and start destroying the enemies around them like chickens.
No Devil or Dark Being is strong enough to last even one second against them. And like that, they start to create a space where the people can breathe for a moment, and the injured ones can have a moment to heal.
Then Kyle and Aurora become even faster at killing, and the people start cheering and smiling. Their leaders are here to help them.
The enemies are starting to be pushed back. Two Universe Fighters—level 3 and level 1—join the front lines, pushing the entire line of Devils and Dark Beings back.
The people behind them cheer with all their might. Then a surge of adrenaline comes, and they start to be even more motivated, and a new wave of high morale appears.
The people start forgetting about their injuries, their tiredness, and their powerlessness. They want to fight next to their City Ruler and avenge their fallen comrades.
So they scream and look at one another, then they start to run faster and faster, until they become just a blur. When they reach the fighting lines, they are like 'Berserk Madmen'. They don't care how they kill their enemies, they just do it. Even if they must bite them to death, they will do it.
And with this high morale from the men, and the new strength wave, they start to wreak havoc among the enemies.
The two Universe Fighters are going further and further, as if saying, 'We will carve the path, you can follow us.'
And like that, the war scales slowly tilt toward the humans' side.
But the leaders of the enemies are also seeing this, so they start to plan their next move.
But before they can do that, Kyle and Aurora appear in their midst, and they start wreaking havoc there as well. They just destroy everything around them.
But before they can do much, they hear a voice:
"So you've decided to give your lives for nothing, but a last flash of brightness, before the light goes completely out."
Kyle and Aurora look at the newcomers, and then they start to smile. Kyle answers:
"First who are you two? And second, why are you so sure that this is our last stand? Because we are not the ones that keep on losing...'Royals'. I heard that a lot of you 'Royals' lost or are already dead."
