Chapter 31
After Ark lands, he looks at Urrokon and sees that he also calms his aura. He is charging for the final stand.
Then, around Urrokon, the air starts to look like transparent waves, the kind you see in the desert when you look in the distance. The earth beneath him cracks and trembles. Then, all of a sudden, his body doubles in muscle mass. He is prepared to unleash the strongest lightning he has ever discharged.
In front of Ark, a magic circle appears, the size of his body. Urrokon can see now only the magic circle in front of Ark. The circle is white with golden writings inside, and one part is turning clockwise while the other part turns counterclockwise. It rotates like this all the way to the center, where there is a star-like shape. That star is the only thing that stands still.
Then, Urrokon makes the first move. From his entire body, a golden aura takes form and transforms into lightning, as big as his seven-meter-tall body. The lightning is massive. If it were to hit a planet, it would turn it into ash in one second.
Then, Ark also fires lightning from his magic circle, but his lightning is white and as large as the size of the circle, which is small compared to Urrokon's seven-meter lightning.
But when the white and golden lightning strikes one another at the point of contact, a small black hole appears, but only for a millisecond, because immediately after, the white lightning destroys the golden one.
And it continues on its path toward Urrokon's body, like a snake going in a zigzag. The golden lightning is not even able to stop it for a second before it is completely destroyed. And then the inevitable happens.
It strikes Urrokon's body in the center of his chest, but his body doesn't even manage to stop it for a millisecond. The white lightning pierces his chest like butter and comes out on the other side, leaving behind a hole half the size of Urrokon's body.
Then his aura starts to plummet, and he looks down at his half-missing chest. He feels the remains of the white lightning wreaking havoc inside his body.
He lifts his head, and a smile appears on his face.
"You really are powerful. I had fun fighting you."
Then his entire body falls face down, his last breath given.
The Black Lightning, Urrokon Vol'gan, is dead.
Then, all around, everything calms down. Snowflakes start to fall, as if the world wants to hide the destruction and those who have fallen.
Ryker, Almog, and Claw raise their heads as if in prayer, silently acknowledging that the Devil who did all this is dead. Now, they can all rest in peace. No one speaks, no one smiles, no one looks happy that the catastrophe is resolved. They just look tired, as though they have aged a hundred years in the span of a minute. The last three powerhouses remaining in the Fifth Empire look like they want to scream and cry, but they are not allowed to.
They need to keep everything inside, not allowing themselves to fall into the pit of sorrow and self-blame.
They need to keep going, strong like they always were, for the remaining... 'Few' who are still around and need protection and help.
Ark looks at them and says:
"You mourned enough. It's time to rise again from the ash. You are not the first, and surely not the last, to have 'Lost' almost everything. The hard part only now starts. Now is the time to show if you all are fit to be 'Rulers'."
"You still have a chance to make everything right, but for that, you all need to keep on living... 'Strong'."
They turn their heads back to Ark, their minds made.
A look of determination appears on their faces. Ryker answers:
"I... 'We,' will take care of things here now. We will make the Fifth Empire even stronger, even if it takes ten or a hundred years. We will bounce back even stronger."
Then a real smile forms on their faces, the first time since this war started. They now have a goal to strive for.
Then, Ryker starts giving orders:
"Almog, you are to search for the still-alive people and help them."
"Claw, you are to search for our remaining officers and take charge, then make some improvised housing for the people."
"I will go and hunt some beasts for food, and we can melt clean snow for water. Then we will try to make a working system to go further and search for survivors, at least until the other Empires manage to send some help. So, we have to manage alone until then."
Then the other two fly off to do their jobs. Ryker turns to Ark:
"Thank you for your help. If you wouldn't have come, we would be dead. Our empire would be lost, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you ever need me and my empire for anything in the future, just say the word, and we will be there."
Ark smiles and says:
"You don't have to thank me. I just did what anyone who is 'Able' to, would do. I also don't want to see our Earth and people being slaves to the 'Higher Beings.'"
"I will one day turn their 'High Chairs' upside down and show them what life 'Down to Earth' really means."
Then an evil smile appears on his face.
Ryker looks at him, and he can see the image in his head of how Ark is wreaking havoc in the highest heaven. And all are running away at the sight of him.
But then, he wakes up and remembers that he has a job to do:
"Master Ark, I need to go and do my job. I presume you also have to hurry and go to the other Empires to help?"
Ark then calms down and returns to his old self:
"Yes, I will go now to the Fourth Empire. Kyle Storm is already there and helping. When we resolve the problem there, we will go to the next one, and so on."
Ryker nods and says:
"I will pray for the Fourth Empire, so that they won't be like us. Goodbye for now, Master Ark. But I hope to see you again so I can thank you properly, with a banquet held in your honor."
Ark just nods and takes flight into the sky, disappearing from Ryker's sight in a few seconds.
Ark wants to fly so that he can help people on the way. He knows that the others are already there, and he doesn't need to hurry; they can manage alone.
On Kyle's side:
He arrived at the Fourth Empire by the time Ark was watching Ryker and the others at the start.
When he got there, the war was in full force. The Dark Beings, together with the Devils, were killing people like weeds, but the people were also many more than in the Third Empire.
The Fourth Empire was the biggest of them all, with the most people, but now almost half of them are dead. Bodies are lying in the dirt, with missing limbs, some torn in half, all over the land.
At the back of the army are a She-Devil Royalty and a She-Dark Being Royalty. Kyle is coming from the right of the army. The two royalties see him, but they don't care. They just watch him as he flies closer and closer towards the castle in the middle of the city. The Dark Beings and Devils that come close to Kyle just turn into minced meat, their bodies cut into thousands of pieces before they even know what hit them. They are just cannon fodder; they can't even get close to a Universe Fighter level 3.
So, Kyle approaches the barrier and says:
"I am Kyle Storm. I have come to help you."
Then a woman with black hair and brown eyes, 1.70 meters tall, with a mature aura around her and a lean body, appears in front of Kyle. She looks at him for a moment, then makes a door in the barrier big enough for Kyle to pass through.
After Kyle gets inside, he hears the woman saying:
"I am glad that you are here, Kyle. We really need the help."
Kyle looks and sees the tired and heavy look on her face:
"Aurora, don't worry. Everything will be fine. More help is going to come. I'm not alone. I just got here sooner."
Then, Kyle smiles with a reassuring face.
When Aurora sees his face and hears his calm and steady voice, she also calms down a little.
"We need to go to my castle, and I will brief you there. Then, we will make a plan on how to survive."
Kyle says with a steady voice:
"We won't only survive. We will win."
