Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 The Duel That Never Happened

"Why do I feel like a third-rate villain in a second-rate cheesy TV drama?" Light rubbed his chin as he watched Malfoy being scolded by Madam Hooch, muttering complaints in his heart. At the same time, he showed a smile to Malfoy (Draco Malfoy) who glared at him hatefully.

Just as Madam Hooch finished scolding Malfoy and shifted her focus to Harry Potter who had just flown back.

Professor McGonagall arrived at this moment: "Madam Hooch! Wait a moment, please. May I borrow Mr. Harry Potter?"

"That's no problem, but..." Madam Hooch explained the whole situation to Professor McGonagall and hoped that she would teach Harry Potter a good lesson.

Professor McGonagall nodded and motioned for Harry Potter to follow her and leave.

Just like this, Harry Potter, who knew nothing, was taken away by Professor McGonagall.

After seeing Harry Potter being taken away, Madam Hooch gathered all the young wizards together. She said seriously, "Because of the prank by one of the young wizards, you can't just fly around in a mess. Only one person can fly at a time."

Under Madam Hooch's close one-on-one watch, no more accidents happened to the young wizards. And Light didn't demonstrate any special talent in flying.

Like most young wizards, he shakily completed one takeoff, turned two circles, and then landed on the ground.

Even so, having experienced flying once, Light also felt the charm of it. The crisp wind whistling in his ears and moving freely without restraint in the air was indeed very attractive.

After all the young wizards had finished flying, this Flying Lesson ended.

After the Flying Lesson, Light, Hermione, Ron, and Neville went back to the castle together to prepare for dinner.

On the way, Hermione kept muttering: "Will Professor McGonagall expel Harry Potter? It was clearly Malfoy's fault. Why did she take Harry Potter away...?"

Neville, who had been listening to Hermione's constant muttering all the way, looked paler and paler, and Ron also looked panicked.

Seeing how nervous the three of them were, Light stopped, looked at the three who also stopped and turned around, and said,

"No, Professor McGonagall won't expel Harry Potter for such small things. If it were Professor Snape, it would be possible."

"Maybe Professor McGonagall intends to praise Harry Potter for his courage. Or maybe because his flying skills and talent are so high that she will let him directly join the Quidditch team!"

"That seems right. Although Professor McGonagall is strict, she won't punish people for no reason." After listening to Light's explanation and considering Snape's fearsome reputation, the three of them thought it made sense and calmed down.

"However, isn't it a bit exaggerated to let Harry Potter directly join the Quidditch team? You have to be at least in the second grade to sit for the assessment," Hermione said as she walked, her tone full of doubt.

"But Harry Potter's skills are really good! And no other young wizard can perform so many difficult moves when they first touch a flying broom." Light said with a smile.

Just as the four of them were chatting and walking, they soon arrived at the auditorium. As soon as the four of them stepped through the door, they saw Harry Potter running towards them.

"You finally came." Harry Potter said a bit nervously as he told them that Professor McGonagall had allowed him to join the Quidditch team and made him the Seeker.

"You guessed correctly after all." Neville and Hermione looked at Light in surprise.

Ron, on the other hand, exclaimed excitedly, "That's great. Light got it right. The professor really invited you to join the Quidditch team. Now you're the youngest Seeker in Hogwarts, Harry Potter."

"I wonder if the team still needs members. A goalkeeper, a Beater, or perhaps someone for logistics or as a substitute." Ron looked at Harry Potter with shining eyes.

"Well, about that! Wood said they don't need any more people." Harry Potter replied to Ron, looking a bit embarrassed.

"Don't be so impulsive in the future. It would be very dangerous if you got caught by Professor Snape." While Harry Potter and Ron were chatting cheerfully, Hermione interrupted.

"But Malfoy was picking on Neville! I couldn't just stand by and do nothing." Harry Potter didn't think he had done anything wrong.

"We can tell the teacher. There's no need to deal with that Malfoy bloke."

"That won't work. A guy like Malfoy. Once he gets away with it, he'll keep bullying people." Seeing that the three were about to start arguing, Light simply made a judgment on this matter.

"Potter, this is your final meal. Tomorrow, you'll be shipped back to the Muggle world," Malfoy's voice came over just as Hermione was about to say something else.

Light and Harry Potter regarded Malfoy calmly. Hermione pouted and refused to look at Malfoy. Neville held Ron back, who was itching to show off.

Malfoy took one look at the four's attitudes and immediately knew his guess was off. But he still stuck out his chin and said, "Light Rogers, if you've got the nerve, come to the Trophy Room tonight. I want to have The Duel That Never Happened with you."

"No way. You can't beat me. And I'm not wasting my time." Light's skeptical expression seemed to rile Malfoy up.

"You're scared," Malfoy continued to taunt.

"Come back when you've learned more Spells! I'm not casting spells on some little tyke who doesn't know any magic. It's a waste of time."

"And a so-called duel proposed by someone who 'wrestles' is kind of a joke." Light sized Malfoy up with a critical look, then sneered. He emphasized the word 'wrestles'.

"Rogers, that was a despicable and underhanded sneak attack!" Malfoy and his two lackeys simultaneously whipped out their wands.

"Are you sure you want to use magic right here?" Light looked at the three of them with a half-smile.

"Err..." Malfoy looked at the Gryffindor wizards filling the seats, waiting for dinner, and was at a loss for words for a moment.

"Fine, we accept your challenge." Just as Malfoy was awkwardly unable to find a way out, Ron suddenly said to Malfoy.

"Good! Don't you dare regret it." As if they'd found an escape route, Malfoy and his cronies left after throwing out a threat.

Light raised an eyebrow and eyed Ron. "Why did you agree to him? Are you really that good at fighting?"

"I'm really good at the Disarming Charm. Tonight, I'll beat that despicable bloke to a pulp! Right, Harry Potter, Neville." Ron confidently included Harry Potter.

"What? Do I have to go as well?" Neville asked blankly.

"Of course. They've got three people. We need one more than them to scare them off." Ron encouraged Neville.

"I'm not going. I don't trust Malfoy."

"What if he doesn't go and reports us for wandering at night (against school rules), and then calls Filch to come and catch us?"

"I don't think he will," Harry Potter and Ron exchanged a look.

"Light's right. This violates the school rules. We've been on edge all afternoon because of this (rule - breaking thing). What if Filch catches us and gets us expelled?" Hermione started to ramble.

Light listened to Hermione's rambling and looked at Harry Potter and Ron who had their minds elsewhere. He knew that the two of them got their rebellious spirits up.
