Chapter 32 - Chapter 32 Before Christmas

"Maybe he doesn't want me to steal the show!" Harry Potter said hesitantly.

"Light, why do you always insist that Snape is innocent?" Hermione asked, frowning.

"Intuition. I can feel that he's not a bad person," Light explained lamely.

"Really?" The three of them, Harry Potter included, simultaneously showed their suspicion.

Light couldn't help but sigh and didn't continue to defend Snape.

He couldn't tell them the whole truth, and he had no way to erase Snape's complicated feelings towards Harry Potter. So it was a dead end. Better let the parties involved solve it themselves!

Seeing that Light fell silent, the three of them didn't continue to dwell on this topic.

"Maybe we can go and ask Hagrid. He might know something," Hermione suggested.

"Right! We can ask him what the Three-Headed Dog is guarding," Harry Potter's eyes suddenly lit up.

"You guys go! I still have something to do," Light said apologetically.

Light parted ways with the three of them behind the classroom door. On the way to the The Library...

"Light Rogers..." A faint voice came.

Hearing this voice, Light's body suddenly stiffened. He thought to himself, "Here it comes, as expected."

He activated Occlumency with all his might. At the same time, he hesitated whether to take out his wand and be ready to attack at any time. Eventually, he chose to give up.

Light turned around, wearing a smile on his face.

"Professor, what can I do for you?"

Quirrell walked closer slowly and showed a smile.

"Student Rogers, I want to ask, do you know about the Three-Headed Dog?"

"What Three-Headed Dog?" Light said he didn't know, while activating Occlumency with all his might. He vaguely felt that some kind of force had touched the false memories he had created.

"Don't you know? I thought you would. Well, never mind. Sorry to trouble you," Quirrell said and then turned away.

Light watched Quirrell walk away and let out a long breath.

"It seems he's stuck and came to me for a guide. But I also led him to Hagrid. Fortunately, I didn't arouse his suspicion just now. Otherwise, this would be a tough hurdle."

"This is so troublesome. Now I'm between the devil and the deep blue sea. I don't know Voldemort's strength, so I don't dare to add points recklessly. And I don't dare to look for Dumbledore either. Such a headache!"

Light shook his head and continued walking towards the The Library.

"What are you guys doing here?" While Light was reading, he saw Harry Potter and the other two also appear in the The Library.

"Light, do you know Nicolas Flamel?" Harry Potter's eyes lit up. He walked closer to Light and asked secretively.

"I don't know," Light pondered for a moment and still chose not to say.

"Is that so?" Harry Potter said a bit disappointedly and told the information he got from Hagrid.

"The Three-Headed Dog is called Fluffy. Dumbledore asked it to guard the Philosopher's Stone. So you suspect that Snape wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone," Light summarized the information Harry Potter had obtained.

"Yes. Before, I also saw that he was limping. He must have gone to steal the Philosopher's Stone and got bitten," Ron also walked over.

"Then what are you doing here in the The Library! You might as well go straight to Dumbledore!" Light pretended not to know something he clearly knew.

"No way. We already told Professor McGonagall, but she didn't believe us. She even questioned where we learned about the Philosopher's Stone."

"So we came to find out the function of the Philosopher's Stone," Hermione said huffily as she walked over with a book in her arms.

"Alright then! Let's read the books together!" Light said indifferently with a nonchalant look.

...

At night, in front of the tapestry of the Troll, outside the Room of Requirement.

"I need a place to practice the Fiendfyre Curse."

Light pushed open the door and walked in. Pieces of stones were floating in mid-air, with a large distance between each stone.

"I can only use this risky method. I originally wanted to take it slow, but Voldemort has completely set his sights on me. I don't dare to randomly add Mileage Points, so I can only practice the Fiendfyre Curse."

Light concentrated fully. He waved his wand, and a violent stream of fiendfyre shot towards the floating stones. The Fiendfyre Curse instantly reduced the stones to ashes, and then transformed into a lion and pounced towards Light.

All Spells End, Light's expression was solemn. His spell hit the charging fire lion, and the two were stalemated for a moment. As Light increased his output, a flash of light passed. The fire lion disappeared into nothingness.

"It's too difficult. Fortunately, I've barely learned All Spells End. Otherwise, I would have been backlashed. Let's continue!"

"This night wasn't in vain, I guess! At least after the Fiendfyre Curse burns, it doesn't backlash me anymore. Instead, I can directly control it to extinguish." Light dragged his tired body back to the dormitory.

In the following few days, whenever Light had time, he kept practicing the Fiendfyre Curse and could barely control the burning range and extinguish it actively.

"Light, I haven't seen you for a while. Where have you been?" Ron asked while having a meal.

"Yeah! I didn't see you in The Library either," Hermione also asked.

"I went to a place to practice magic. By the way, have you found Nicolas Flamel and the Philosopher's Stone?" Light casually made up an excuse and then asked back.

"I don't have a single clue. I've flipped through the school history many times, but I haven't found any clues," Hermione said, looking discouraged.

"Don't be in a hurry. Haste makes waste," Light knew that Quirrell wouldn't have time next. He was going to deal with the illegal dragon egg. He didn't have the ability to cause trouble in a short time.

"By the way, Before Christmas is coming soon. Are you going back?" Harry Potter, who was quietly eating, suddenly asked.

"I'm going back. How about you guys?" Hermione showed a smile.

"No!" Light, Harry Potter, and Ron looked at each other after hearing this and also showed a smile.

"You have to buy us presents! We probably won't be able to prepare presents at school," Light laughed.

In the following few weeks, Light kept practicing the Fiendfyre Curse, but there wasn't much progress.

And as Light had expected, Quirrell hardly showed up except for teaching classes.

Time flew by, and it was December. One night Before Christmas, a blizzard came.

The entire castle was buried in snow. The heavy snow brought intense cold, and it also indicated that Christmas was approaching.

Light was chilled by the cold brought by the snow, and Harry Potter and Ron were no exception. The three of them put on a few more warm clothes inside their black robes before daring to go out.

When the three walked out, they saw that the decoration inside the castle was full of the Christmas atmosphere. Countless colored ribbons were connected to gift boxes and hung on the walls. There stands a small Christmas tree in a corner.

The auditorium has also been newly decorated. The walls are adorned with gift box ribbons crafted from holly and pine branches and leaves.

Twenty tall Christmas trees are standing all around. Sparkling little icicles dangle from the trees, and the ribbons glimmer as they coil around the trunks. There is a star atop each tree, and numerous gift boxes are stacked at the base of the trees.

This is the Christmas that the school has prepared for the students who won't be going home.

It seems that the professors are also aware that the students are not in the mood to study around the festival time, so they don't teach overly profound knowledge.

Even Snape hasn't given Harry Potter too much trouble these days. During Potions class, there was basically no requirement for hands-on practice.
