Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 Christmas

In the afternoon, Light was having a boring History of Magic class. Looking through the window, he saw the Weasley twins constantly bombarding Quirrell with a bunch of enchanted snowballs.

Quirrell was running around, holding his head in his hands as the snowballs pelted him. Light couldn't help smiling when he saw one snowball hit Quirrell right on the back of the head.

What if those two knew they had just taken a swipe at Voldemort? Would they cheer?

When the last class ended and the teacher dismissed the class, the entire Hogwarts erupted with excitement because the holiday was starting tomorrow, and the students could finally see their long-separated families.

However, this wasn't a cause for celebration for Light. He had nowhere to go. The orphanage could hardly be considered a home.

When Professor McGonagall came to register the list of students staying on the school campus, Light signed his name. So did Harry Potter and Ron.

After the three of them finished registering and were on their way to the auditorium for dinner, they were stopped by Malfoy and his two cronies.

" Oh! Look at this, everyone! What have I found? A bunch of unwanted kids." Malfoy said, wearing a punchable expression.

"And you, Weasley. Your mom must think there are too many mouths to feed in the family and is going to toss you out."

"You bloody bastard!" Ron snapped angrily and rushed up to punch Malfoy.

Malfoy staggered a few steps after getting hit. He whipped out his wand and was about to cast a spell, and at the same time, his two lackeys charged forward.

Light and Harry Potter drew their wands the moment Ron stepped forward.

Expelliarmus! Light and Harry Potter cast the spell simultaneously, and the three wands flew into Light's and Harry Potter's hands respectively.

Malfoy and his two cronies were sent flying by the Disarming Charm and crashed to the ground.

"That's enough! Using magic recklessly in school and assaulting students wantonly. Twenty points will be deducted from Gryffindor." Snape emerged from the shadows and said icily.

"Professor, I..." Light stopped Harry Potter, who was about to talk back, and yanked Ron, who was about to step forward again.

"Alright, I'm really sorry, Professor!" Seeing Light own up to his mistake, Snape didn't keep hounding. As he turned to leave, he shot a glance at Malfoy and his two cronies who were barely managing to get up.

Malfoy got the message right away and left with his two lackeys trailing behind Snape.

"There's definitely something off about Snape. He's always singling Harry Potter out on purpose. He cast a spell during the game before, trying to hurt Harry Potter." Ron grumbled, looking disgruntled.

"Maybe! Let's go grab something to eat first!" Light didn't stick up for Snape but dodged the topic.

After bidding farewell to their friends who were going home, the Christmas holiday officially kicked off.

During the Christmas holiday, the whole school was steeped in a festive atmosphere.

During the holiday, Light spent half of his time in The Library and the other half getting Christmas gifts ready.

He prepared some cash and a thick overcoat for Mrs. Cott at the orphanage and told her not to bother with a gift in return. He got a Christmas music box for Harry Potter, a new set of wizard chess for Ron, and a set of notes on Dark Magic practice for Hermione.

He got an automatic note-taking quill for Neville, a huge deerskin hat for Hagrid, and a book of pranks for the Weasley twins.

Christmas rolled around right on schedule, much to everyone's delight.

As soon as Light got out of bed, he saw Harry Potter and Ron unpacking the gift boxes. Light smiled and moved closer.

As soon as Light approached, he saw Ron fiddling with a new set of wizard chess.

At this time, Harry Potter also opened Light's gift. When he opened the music box, three small figures popped out and a melodious Christmas song rang out.

Harry Potter let out a 'Wow!' and began swaying along with the music. Finally, he took out a silver-gray textile that looked like flowing liquid from the gift box.

"What is this..." Harry Potter looked at the gift in his hand a little hesitantly.

"This is an Invisibility Cloak. Can I try it on?" Light leaned over and asked, looking very interested.

"No problem!" Harry Potter handed the Invisibility Cloak in his hand to Light.

Light took it, and at the same time, a message came from the stone stele:

"Complete the mileage 'One-third of the Mystery of Death', and gain 1 Mileage Point."

Light raised his eyebrows. So I can get two more Mileage Points. Then he unfolded the Invisibility Cloak and put it on.

Seeing Light disappear as soon as he put on the cloak, Harry Potter couldn't help but reach out and touch it. A smooth, flowing touch was felt on his hand.

After putting on the Invisibility Cloak, Light felt it was similar to using the Disillusionment Charm. After asking Harry Potter and Ron a few questions, he roughly found out that the Invisibility Cloak could reduce a certain amount of sound and smell. Then he took it off and returned it to Harry Potter, asking him to give it a try too.

While Harry Potter and Ron were having a great time, Light started opening his own gifts.

Ron gave him a pack of candies, Harry Potter gave him a notebook, Hermione gave him her notes, and the Weasley twins gave him some prank props.

Finally, he opened Hagrid's gift box, and the gift inside almost startled Light. A unicorn horn, which could fetch thousands of Galleons on the market.

...

The Christmas banquet at Hogwarts was held with a particularly festive atmosphere.

All the young wizards who didn't go home sat at a long table. In this joyous festival atmosphere, all the usual conflicts and competitions were put aside as they enjoyed the festival together.

After the banquet, Light sat on the edge of the open space in the castle, watching a group of young wizards having a snowball fight. The combination of Spells and power intrigued Light.

At this time, several snowballs that popped up behind Light interrupted his watching. The snowballs hit him continuously.

Light turned around and saw the Weasley twins holding snowballs and laughing heartily.

"Pop! Pop!" The two snowballs formed by Light hit the twins precisely. They looked at each other and laughed again.

Then the two sides engaged in a fierce battle. Light had high accuracy, while the twins had a large number of snowballs. For a while, the battle was extremely intense.

As Harry Potter and Ron joined Light's side and were about to win, the twins also got reinforcements, and finally it developed into a big battle between two camps.

"Ha ha ha ha ha..."

Finally, all the young wizards who joined the war were buried under the snowdrifts and laughed in unison.

After dinner, the cold became even more intense. The young wizards, tired from the 'big battle' during the day, went back to their dormitories in twos and threes.

"Hey, George! Do you like my Christmas present?" Light asked with a smile.

"I'm not George. I'm Fred."

"No, you're George. I left a little something special on the gifts I gave you. Whenever I'm close to George, my right hand twitches. Otherwise, it's my left hand."

"That's impossible. I didn't notice any hidden device." Fred and George exclaimed in shock simultaneously.

"Alright! I was just pulling your leg. The initials of your names are written on your sweaters."

"We're defeated again." The twins glanced at each other and said with grins.

"Looks like you really love my gifts!" Light replied with a grin too.
