Chichi then greeted all of Goku's friends, introducing herself as his wife. But she noticed something and decided to ask Tien about it.
"Hey, Tien was it?"
"Yes?"
"The two ladies and that little boy, I don't see them here, is there something wrong? I'd really like to introduce myself to the rest of my Husband's friends."
"Oh, uhm, those two they uh… How do I say this?"
"Oh, Yamcha, I know you had a crush on me once, but I'm a married woman now. I hope you understand…"
"YAMCHA! Seriously, how cold hearted can you even be?" Krillin shouted, almost red with anger. "First you go and break Bulma's heart, then this?"
"Woah, that was just a joke… I was uh, I wasn't serious at that time."
Bulma holding Bosa in her arms, and Launch walking next to her in an effort to be there in the event Bulma couldn't stand anymore. The shock of the last couple days had taken its toll.
"So, you were keeping another woman in your heart the whole time, typical," Bulma said, which kept Launch from exploding on Yamcha instead.
"Oh, wonderful, you're Bulma right? It's nice to see you again. Hmm, are you alright? You look sad."
Bulma tightened her embrace around her son Bosa, she was trying to restrain herself from lashing out.
"Oh, what's this adorable boy's name? He's so cute."
"My name? Bosa…"
"Oh wow, aren't you smart. I'm Chichi, it's nice to meet you."
Bosa looked away from Chichi, and up at his mother. The conversation she and Launch had last night and the one just now had made it clear even to young Bosa what was happening.
"Bulma, is it alright if I hold him for a while?" Chichi asked, extremely presumptuously. Bulma didn't budge. "Hmm? Is something wrong?"
Bulma, not able to take it anymore, and reached her breaking point… The tears came once more, and this time with a little bit of anger too.
"Yes! Of course there's something wrong! You came along and just took the man I loved away before I even had the chance to get through to him. I wanted Bosa to have the best father he could have! I wanted to be with the man I loved! But now both of those things are gone, made impossible by you!"
Chichi took a step back in surprise, she was more than a little shook.
"And what's more, I find out that you'd been in the heart of my kid's dirtbag of a father, while he was with me! Can you even begin to imagine how I feel right now? I bet you can't, can you!" Bulma continued, the pure heartbreak and sorrow clear in tone. "Do you even know anything about Goku? You don't, do you? So how can you love him!?" She fell to her knees holding Bosa close, crying her heart out.
The outburst was unexpected but the contents of it weren't. The group sorta just stood there confused on what to say or do. Yamcha, was the first to try and make a move before Launch stopped him.
"Yamcha, you're the last person she needs consoling from right now. After all, you're 90% of this mess and you don't even realize it. Bulma was trying to play out Bosa and Goku would get along. She held back yesterday specifically to give Goku and Bosa time to ease into getting comfortable with each other. She was going to ask him out once the tournament ended too. She didn't want to interrupt Goku's focus and love of fighting. We talked all about it last night."
Yamcha backed up and then sat his butt down on a bench to think about himself a little more. He looked at Bulma, someone he considered a close friend, and yet this is what his actions caused, he hurt her… I really am a shitty friend aren't I…
After hearing Launch's rant, the res of the group knew that there were really only two people who had a right to attempt resolving this situation, the one it should have been was currently still trying her best to think up answers to the questions she was just berated with, when…
"Humph, a lot of stupid sentimentality you got going there. You won't have a chance to do such a thing after the tournament anyway. Because I'm going to kill all of you once it's over. Ahahaha!" Piccolo said from afar, laughing as he walked away.
This was the break in the drama that Chichi needed. She joined Bulma on the floor, similarly tearing up and just hugging her close. The two were in just the right position to whisper to each other without anyone over hearing. After a few moments, but actually felt like ages, Bulma and Chichi stood up and gave each other a look… Even Bosa was confused…
"Hey Master Roshi, do you know what they said?"
"No idea Krillin, no idea. Bosa was the closest but it seems even he is confused. Any ideas, Launch?"
"Who me? No, but if I did, I wouldn't be telling you about it."
"Alright then, you wanted to hold Bosa for a little bit, right?" Bulma asked knowing the answer and thus handed Bosa over to Chichi.
"He's so… I feel… I, holding him makes me all warm and fuzzy inside." Chichi said with a smile. "You can call me Aunty Chichi."
Bosa, confused beyond his wits, looked at his mother who smiled as if giving the okay. And then he looked back at Chichi. "Aunty Chichi? Will I get a daddy soon?" He asked, opting to attempt hiding his emotions as best he could.
However, like clockwork, Goku finally caught up to the situation… "Wait, you wanted me to be Bosa's new father? What exactly is that though?"
Bulma sighed, knowing she should expect such things. "How is it you know about uncles, but not fathers? Well, anyway… Let's see, the closest thing you might understand it as, would be how your grandpa took care of you." She explained.
Chichi saw first hand just how easily Bulma answered the question and also did it in a way that made it easy to understand.
"Oh, wow. Gee Bulma, that sounds like you were trusting me with something so important…"
"Don't worry, you're going to be around me quite a bit regardless. Chichi and I just came to an agreement. But you have to make good on it or I might just lose it."
"Huh? What kind of agreement did the two of you make?" Krillin asked.
"Oh, nothing too serious. Just a bet between ladies." Chichi smirked.
