This woman raised him for the past 13 years, a child with no blood relation to her like her own.
She gave him so much love that he felt fortunate that he got kicked out of the Valefor family.
He didn't hate the Valefor assholes because they brought him to his true family.....

If possible, Rin didn't want to deal with the supernatural side of the world because he had a loving family and friends and a good social life.
He was academically and physically gifted. He was good at sports and was pretty popular.
He was living the perfect life, and everything would have been fine if this world had been normal.

"Is it Shouko?" Rin answered innocently, but it seemed the person asking the question didn't appreciate his answer as the hands on his eyes moved towards his neck as they wrapped in a chokehold.
"You little! " Rin heard a growl from behind as he felt a pair of soft arms wrap around his neck, suffocating him.
The grip strength was surprisingly strong for a girl, making him wonder if she was secretly a man in disguise.

"Marin, Let go... *Cough* I can feel them..." Rin said cryptically. The arms around his neck loosened as soon as he finished speaking, and they pinched his cheeks.
"P-Pervert!" Marin said in annoyance as she felt self-conscious.
"Hey! Is this what I get for being nice~ " Rin asked back in indignation.
"Hmph! " Marin pouted as she turned her head away from him while still having her arm on his shoulder.
"Hey Shouko, don't you think Marin is being unreasonable?" Rin decided to ask for help. He turned towards his other friend, making the girl embarrassed as she covered her face with a notebook.
But she peeked out from above the notebook, gazing at Rin.
"...." Shouko said something, but it was so low and muffled by the notebook that he couldn't hear it clearly.
But one thing was clear ... Shouko wasn't speaking up for him.
Shouko picked up her pen and wrote something in the notebook, then turned it towards Rin, whose lips twitched as he read what was written.
"Rin- Pervert "
Although Shouko was admonishing him, he could see the barely noticeable smile on her face.
