Chapter 9 - Clash at Arragonth Gate

In the western part of the kingdom, soldiers of the Blue Crescent Kingdom fought a tribe that stood more than seven feet tall, had powerful sheening muscles and wielded large blades and swords. They had long brown hair and intense green eyes.

But they were almost naked as the only thing that covered their bodies was a piece of cloth wrapped around their waist and thighs.

They had lots of tattoos covering their arms, back, chest, thighs and calves.

These warring tribesmen, brute-looking and cruel-hearted, were from the Nhungluh Tribe, a tribe known for their savageness and barbarity.

With sheer brute strength, they killed their way through the rank of Blue Crescent Soldiers who formed a wall, trying to stop them from advancing eastward.

"I told you that with the great power that I bestowed upon this tribe of retards, they will be unstoppable."

"Now, let's simply watch the battle and revel in the gruesome deaths of these soldiers and their people. Haha."

A man who watched the battle on a mountain peak in a particular kingdom through a large mysterious screen, said and sinisterly cackled.

"I see. That inscribed weapon that you gave them to smash open the Arragonth Gate, I would love to see and examine it."

"That weapon is absurdly powerful and terrifyingly strong. Anyone who knows how resilient and impenetrable the Arragonth Gate is would be deeply amazed." Another who stood on the mountain peak, watching the onslaught through the screen with joy on his face, said with awe in his tone.

There were currently five people on the mountain peak. These people, who ranged from young to middle-aged, had powerful auras exude from their towering bodies. Also, with just the simple gestures of their arms as they spoke, tyrannical waves of devastating power discharged from them, tearing apart the atmosphere and turning torn or splintered areas of it into pitch-black vacuums.

...

The battle continued with soldiers being killed and halved parts of their armor-covered bodies flying dozens of feet into the air before crashing to the ground a moment later. It was simply a one-sided bloodbath that seemed unstoppable.

A soldier who was gruesomely injured, and was heavily panting, fighting hard to remain alive, looked at one of the warring tribesmen that had appeared in front of him to kill him.

With eyes closed, fully prepared to accept his death, the tribesman sneered and raised his large blade to cruelly behead the soldier.

But just then, before he could cut open the head of this soldier, a loud boom that sounded in the far distance and caused the ground to violently shake was heard, drawing everyone's full attention towards it.

Then—in that same second, a long spear appeared, easily piercing through the body of that tribesman.

Puchi!

The horrifying sound of something sharp penetrating through a body rang out, causing chills to spread through the bodies and souls of those around. Also, it left a violent burst of bright red blood in the air, dying the surrounding atmosphere temporarily red.

However, the spear didn't stop there. It continued into the distance like it hadn't come across any obstacle in its path, piercing through a hundred more before striking an enormous mountain in the far distance—at a thousand meters away, shattering it into countless smithereens.

It was simply like an enormous thunderbolt had struck the mountain with unrestrained fury, causing a deafening bang sound to ring out and a massive cloud of dust to billow towards the sky in rage.

"What?" The five men standing on the mountain peak, watching the battle with joy at the unstoppable onslaught, gasped in serious shock at the same time.

As for the battle happening on the battleground, it had immediately paused, because everyone stopped what they were doing and turned their heads to look at who threw the spear.

Then they saw a large, double-horned horse flying towards them, a young tall male seated atop it and a little armored female seated behind him.

Immediately recognizing the distinctive armor that this person wore, the soldiers shouted loudly, their morale surging.

Of course, it was the powerful prince of their kingdom. The one that kicked the ass of his dad, their admirably powerful ruler. The rumor about their battle had gone round, causing the soldiers to look at him in a new light—with utmost reverence and great admiration.

They pointed towards the sky with their chosen weapons, screaming his praise. Then they immediately turned to face the warring tribesmen, fully prepared for another round of intense battle.

...

Vhelgarr who was watching the battle using his sharp vision as they flew over from the palace, and decisively launched his spear to save that soldier from the brutality of the warring Nhungluh tribesman that had appeared before him to decimate him, was shocked by the power possessed by the spear after he hurled it.

With a thunderous boom that startled the Nexabeast they were on, almost throwing them off from an attitude of six hundred feet in the sky, the spear shot forward with great blazing speed that he couldn't track with his sharp, powerful sight.

It left no blur as it became a thin streak of dazzling light that covered vast distances very quickly, easily piercing through the tough bodies of many Nhungluh tribesmen, leaving them dead, despite the extraordinary toughness and supernaturally augmented hardness of their skin.

'Is this that power I suddenly manifested when I was sparring with dad? Because I am not supposed to be this strong at my current age.' He said internally, his face filled with wonder and puzzlement.

But it lit up a moment later when he arrived at a certain comprehension—after understanding why he was able to launch such an incredibly potent attack, a feat that should be completely impossible for him to execute as his present power level.

'It's definitely that power.' Vhelgarr said confidently, brimming with a wondrous feeling that made him excited.

When the Nexabeast landed on the bloodied ground covered with torn arms and ripped legs or heads, he and Nailah immediately jumped off it and began to fight the tribesmen that ran towards them in pure vengeful rage.

Nailah, who was armed with two short curved swords, which was a type of weapon that she chose for this battle, showed great flexibility, decisiveness, courage, and astonishing agility as she fought the warring tribesmen.

Infusing power into the edges of the curved swords which made them glow in bright violet and rampantly emit dreadful pulses of power, she lithely jumped from one tribesman to the other, targeting their necks and slashing or cutting them open.

She was incredibly quick that in just a few seconds, she had killed more than ten of the warring tribesmen.

Vhelgarr who fought but was watching her as she fearlessly handled her enemies on the battleground, couldn't help but shake his head, his eyes shining with great awe and astonishment.

'Damn! Has she been killing people before she got to her current age? If not, my little sis is one gifted natural assassin, a highly talented killer.'

'If I were to fight her without any powers, I might be dead before I even know it.' Vhelgarr said within himself and chuckled.

He continued, his attention split in two, 'But how is she able to cut the necks of these tough bastards? This little secretive girl definitely has some powers and abilities I know nothing about. Shame on me as a big brother. I know nothing about my family members.'

He refocused on the battle, brutally slicing apart the bodies of a certain group of enemies that ran towards him with just a single swing of the longsword in his hand.

Then nimbly, like he was a swords grandmaster that had become one with air, he began to cut his way like a blade hurricane through the overwhelming hordes of Nhungluh tribesmen that raged towards him.

He was followed directly behind by his brave little sister, as well as the gallant and war-hardened soldiers of their kingdom who vengefully impaled and pierced the enemies for their fallen brothers and sisters.

After cutting down scores of enemies, Vhelgarr pondered how to obliterate the rest swiftly. Their foes were relentless and savage, their sheer numbers overwhelming. Meanwhile, in the yet-unreached parts of the kingdom, innocent inhabitants were being slaughtered.

The captured regions had become makeshift strongholds for the invading tribesmen, fortifying their hold on the kingdom.

So, in a single valiant effort to quickly reduce their large numbers, a feat that his mother was preparing to execute as she oversaw the battle from up in the sky, Vhelgarr decided to look within himself in an attempt to draw that vast catastrophic power that would immediately turn the tide of the battle.

He wasn't sure if it would work, but he just had to, for his people and the kingdom, since he couldn't stand the sorrowful cries and mournful screams of people; both young and old that rang ceaselessly into his sharp ears from afar, causing agonizing pains to rack his heart.
