Chapter 6 - He is boss; you stupid woman!

Huffing, I pressed the buttons harder. His words were repeating over and over in my head, and I couldn't help but feel more agitated. 'I mean, did he have to be so rude? Boss?' I am starting to hate him—such an insolent man!

I get the printing work done, checking if the number of papers was met, I put them in a pile and walk back to the office, looking around, I gasp as a sudden question hits me, "How did he fall?" I rush to the stairs and look around, I tilt my head as I find a chain against the step.

I pick it up, I feel a little blush creep up my face at the thought of seeing him again, shaking my head, I put the chain necklace in my pocket and rush to the office, not wanting to be lashed out for being late.

Back in the office area, I approach Vier and I ask what I should do with the papers, "Give me the rest while I take these five sheets and distribute them to the rest of the team. Come back to me once you are done." He says, and I nod, distributing the sheets with a small smile.

"So, I have secured myself a project, this is the file. Go through it today and come to me once you read it. We can have a brief Q&A." I nod and grab the file, walking back to my seat, and I start to read through.

The more I read, the more invested I was. This project was for a collaborative contract from a production company in Singapore. With how much of information I have collected, our company focuses on marketing the products apart from our own.

I found the company called 'Easta Cosmetics & Co' was looking forward to launching their new batch of cosmetic products, especially around this time, and looking forward to collaborative marketing.

I returned to Vier, and it was already lunchtime as I saw them get off of their chairs. Vier watched me approach and smiled at me, smiling back. I handed him the file. "Shall we talk over lunch?" I ask.

"Sure, I am actually planning the same, let's head to the cafeteria." Vier says, leading the way to the cafeteria, I was excited to eat as I rushed out to work early without much breakfast.

Settling down on the desk across the cafeteria, I smile, watching the lunch box, "The company is great…the lunch is good." I say, grabbing the spoon as I help myself along with Vier, who is nodding along, enjoying the food.

"So, this particular company has reached out to us, which is a good opportunity to thrive on the international platform. The CEO will be personally looking over us and our update on this." Vier says, and I gasp, slowly the thought sinking into how much this collaboration mattered to the company.

"Um, do you think I can manage this? I am quite nervous." I ask, playing with my food, "On top of that, it looks like a really important project." I add, looking up at him.

"Aye, Sie. I am the one who should be stressed about that since I am the head of the project. All you need to do is learn under me so that you can grab yourself a project someday." Vier says, chuckling.

I smile at his words, feeling calm. The comment really helped me, and I ate, "So, what do we have to do? Are we planning on a photoshoot? Make content, shoot? I mean, isn't that how things work in this market?" I ask, careful with my words.

He nods, "Yeah. You are right, we will, but I am planning to do it a little differently this time. Instead of going on with the model in the company, I am planning on using a model out of the company."

"Why though?" I ask, genuinely curious.

Vier shrugs, making me frown, and says, "Just wanna find a perfect fit for the products, need to make sure they already focus on beautification. Since the upcoming brand is looking forward to variation in use. I think it would be better to find models of different skin complexions as well. You understand?"

I nod my head, understanding his point. "I think that's a great idea. We can also put variation in age, like different races and different ages. Wearable for everyone. How does that sound?" I say, excited as Vier chuckles, nodding his head at me and my words.

"We can do that." I smile, happy with his response and that we are on the same page, maybe working isn't that bad when you have someone this open and easy to work with and get guidance.

The lunch was even more wonderful with my good mood, but then I noticed someone, I gulped seeing his eyes already staring right at me, I coughed awkwardly while Vier frowned, helping me with a glass of water. I grab the glass and suddenly see a pair of shoes approaching closer through my periphery as I look down.

"Oh, boss. Good afternoon." I hear Vier say, my eyes widen as a realization hits me, he really was 'THE BOSS'.

I slowly look up, meeting his gaze, as I bow my head, not wanting to seem disrespectful. "Is the work going smoothly?" I hear him ask, Luthien or something, I scoff internally as I sit down, playing with my food and looking everywhere but him.

"Yes, boss. I shall come up to you later with the details and update." I hear Vier say with a chuckle, I hear a subtle hmm from him before I feel him walking away, I look up at Vier and blink my eyes.

"Who?" I question, wanting to be proper with information.

Vier shakes his head, "You don't know?" And he laughs, "Sie... really? He is the CEO." I choke on my food at that, he stands, rushing to me as he pats my back, and I drink water from the glass.

"CEO?!" I snap, but I grow embarrassed seeing all eyes on me, and I bow my head apologetically as I silently settle back on the chair. Vier chuckles at my reaction, not expecting such, but doesn't make it a big deal. "Why? I mean he looks scary and cold, but he is kind." Vier adds.

"Kind?" I scoff internally as I remember how rude he was. I shake off the thought, but then all of a sudden I remember the chain necklace. I gasp and stand up, "Um, Vier. I have to go, see you back in the office later." I say and rush out of the cafeteria.

Vier sits tight, flustered with my sudden leave, and he goes back to eating, taking some of my lunch, which was untouched. I rush out, looking around as I run out the door and down the hallway, I sigh in relief as I see his back, in a call.

"No, Dad. I am not doing anything." I heard him say, I frowned, wondering if I should approach him or let him talk, but then I had to return it to him anyhow. "Whatever suits you. I am not doing anything." I heard him snap as he cut the call. I gasped as he swiftly turned around, looking straight at me.

He knew? That I was here? How?

I gulp and slowly approach him as he puts his phone back, watching with a raised brow. When I stand before him, he scoffs and steps closer towards me, "Are you spying on me, Miss?" He says, I frown astonished as I shake my head no.

"No?" He mutters, leaning closer to my face as he keeps stepping closer, startled. I step back. "N-No! I j-just-"

"Just checking up on me? The way I see it? You seem to have some motive for coming here." He accuses me, I widen my eyes at his comment, scoffing. I glare at him, "Excuse me? Motive?" I say, but suddenly he places his hands against the wall, which I hadn't noticed because of him.

I yelp, startled as he glares back at me, "You know me, don't you?" He asks, tilting his head while I frown, "Of course, I do now. I-I didn't mean to make you suspicious or something… I just came to return something." I say, flustered and embarrassed.

He raises his brow, "Return to me?"

I nod, slowly fondling my pocket, but I frown as I don't find it there, and I gasp. "Um, I swear I had something to return to you!" I say, growing embarrassed and defensive to prove myself while he smirks.

"Oh, yeah?" He says, leaning closer.

"Are you sure you had something to give me? Or…u just came here… for something?" He says, leaning closer while I stay flustered, "What a-are you doing?" I ask, my breath tight, stuck in my throat as I grow lost for words.

I stiffen when he snuggles against my neck, letting out a shaky breath. I hear him say, "Is this what you are here for?"

My eyes widen as my nose flares, growing angry at him degrading me, I almost, I mean almost, retorted back, but he bit me. I yelp, clutching his coat as he licks the bite mark he left on my neck, "S-Stop."

My body betrayed me, I closed my eyes shut as he trailed a few kisses down my neck, nuzzling my skin, and I embraced it all, the feeling and his touch.

What am I doing?

He is my boss for fuck sake!

Sierra, you stupid woman!
