Finally, I have my desk. I was assigned to a team where I would be just learning under the manager since I was new before I could work around them, like them. Ahh, this feeling is hard to explain.
You probably will understand the happiness and sense of accomplishment, something that we desired so much, and despite our thinking it would mess up, it goes pretty well, and finally, life feels like a dream. I feel that right now, still overthinking about me messing it up, just another minute.
"Miss Damaris?" I flinch. "Y-Yeah?" I mutter, clearing my throat and focusing on the person ahead of me. "I am Veir, your co-worker." He introduces himself, acknowledging me. I smile politely and introduce myself, "I am Sierra Damaris. Nice to meet you, Veir."
"So, I shall help you with adjusting here, but first, our manager is calling for you." He adds, widening my eyes, I nod my head as I feel nervous meeting the manager, "Sure, lead the way." I say, gesturing to him to do so, I silently follow him.
I watch as I walk through the hallway, the architecture is quite impressive, "Miss Damaris?" Veir calls out, bringing me out of my thoughts, "Just call me Sie." I say not wanting him to keep calling me that way since I call him by his name.
He nods his head and smiles, "This way." He says and chuckles, I flush embarrassed as I realize I was more of leading my way as I look around, "Sorry." I mutter, looking away before I compose myself and follow him until we come across a cabin at the end of the hallway.
We walked in, and I took in the sight of a female working before she looked up at us, noticing our presence. Her eyes linger on me, and I bow my head slightly, showing my respect, and she nods, smiling at me. "Sierra Damaris?" She asks, inquiring about me, to which I nod my head.
"Welcome to the team, just so you know, we work very closely with the CEO. Your co-worker, Veir, will help you learn and adjust. For a few months, you will be getting used to the working environment and helping us with the project." She says, getting more intimidating, and all I did was nod my head.
"Also, no need to be so intimidated by our manager, she is just a little serious about work but very helpful, indeed." Veir adds that maybe he sensed me getting more tense and a little under her intimidating presence, the manager chuckles at his comment and looks at me.
"I am easy going as long as you are responsible and sensible, a mistake happens, but learn better. Veir, why don't you start by involving her in your project? She will learn a lot." I look up at him and watch him smile and nod his head.
"Then, you are dismissed. Also, let her know of things to do and not." The manager speaks, nodding her head, and I follow Veir out, taking in a deep breath in relief. I hear him chuckle, and I grow more embarrassed.
"Hey, it's okay. She is that way until you quite don't get to know her. Come on, let's get to the task." He says, walking ahead, encouraging myself in my head. I follow him.

Third POV
"Did we hire a new batch of employees?" Luthien asks, walking inside his cabin and taking the seat. His assistant frowns at the question but nods, nonetheless. "Not exactly a batch but a few, yes. Why do you ask?" Chris, his assistant, plus beta, who handles all his work schedule inside and outside, asks, standing beside him.
"The girl…in the elevator, I want her file." Luthien says, avoiding looking at his beta, who is giving him a suspicious look, "And?" He mutters, wanting to hear more from his boss. "Just do as I ask of you." Luthien grumbles, getting busy while Chris chuckles and walks off, heading to the Human Resource Department.
Once Chris was out of sight, Luthien sighed, leaning against his seat as he thought, 'She doesn't seem to recognize me.' He groans, massaging his head as he briefly relishes the encounter, the door opens, startling him.
"Here is the file, boss." Chris says, placing the file on the desk and observing Luthien. Luthien grabs the file, reading through the details, "Sierra…Damaris." He mutters, his eyes going through the details as if he is memorizing them.
"What's the reason for sudden recruits?" Luthien asks, placing the file down and facing his beta, who scoffs, looking at him in disbelief. "Did you forget how you fired that lady because she was hitting on you last week?"
Luthien frowns, "So? What's that got to do with this?"
"The woman you fired was the manager of the marketing department. Since then, the new manager has been assigned, and there were a few vacant seats in other departments, so we opened up for a few." He says, crossing his arms and looking annoyed at all the additional work he had to do this week.
"So, this woman, no connections? Through the system?" Luthien inquires.
"No, proper interview and inquiry. She was pretty convincing and qualified." Chris says, nodding his head while Luthien hums and eyes the picture in her file. "Interesting." He mutters, his eyes lingering over her file.
"Do you know her?" Chris squints his eyes.
Luthien looks up, meeting his beta's gaze, "How would I? Stop using the brain to figure out things and instead enlighten me about my schedule." Luthien says, placing the file on the desk and leaning back on his chair, playing with his fingers as he eyes Chris patiently.
Chris chuckles, grabbing the tablet as he gets to work.
End of Third POV
"Miss Sie?" I look up as I hear my name, a smile comes to my lips as I see Vier walking my way, "Come on, it's time for a meeting. I will help you make the most of it." He says to which I stand up from my desk and look around to see most of them are gathering their stuff before moving, I nod and follow as Vier leads me to a room.
The meeting lasted an hour. I was assigned to make notes, print out the highlights, and distribute them to each team member so they could check the tasks. I was slowly getting used to how things worked. The team was quite mobile and experienced, which got me thinking about how I could justify myself.
Vier helped me with a few assignments, making me understand my tasks and responsibilities in the team. Thus, recently ensuring I am well accustomed, I found myself walking down the hallway toward the printing press, just when I started feeling funny again, is my stomach acting up again?
I take a deep breath, I can't mess up my first day.
I bite my lower lip and slowly make my way toward the printing room when I feel a sudden throb, which gets me down on my knees, hurting like hell. "What is going on?" I question myself, clutching my stomach as I take in a deep breath.
Panting, I held the wall as I supported myself, I looked around and found myself all alone, how big was this freaking hallway? And where the fuck is the printing room?!
Wait, why am I feeling agitated? I wonder.
Taking in a deep breath, I stand up feeling a little better before I start walking down and notice a pair of legs against the stairs, gasping. I rush and find a man lying down on his stomach.
I look up and then at him, wondering if he fell, I slowly approach him, "Excuse me?" I called out, leaning down and slowly pulling him up, helping him lean against the wall, he was panting, hard with a slight cut on his forehead.
"Did you fall?" I ask as I notice his features, my breath hitching as I see him, the man from the elevator.
His eyes opened, meeting mine, and I found my breath hitch, no longer able to focus except on his deep eyes, staring into mine. "Excuse…m-me?" I mumble, slowly holding his arm when I feel a shiver run down my spine.
His eyes bore a hole into my soul with how intense his gaze was, leaving me flustered and gasping for breath, "Are you okay, sir?" I ask, slowly composing myself. I flinch when he groans and sits up properly.
"What are you doing here?" He asks, surprising me. I wanted to say I was just working, but his eyes made me freeze. I don't know why, but I wasn't in control of my body. I blink my eyes, startled as I hear him huff, "Done checking me out?"
Widening my eyes, I slowly pull myself back, gulping. I look at him and my eyes find themself focusing on his forehead, "You are hurt, wait." I say as I fumble through my coat pocket, and I smile as I find a small bandage.
"Seriously?" I look up. "Hmm?" I mumble, tilting my head.
"Childish." I hear him mutter under his breath. I pout a little, eyeing the yellow panda bandage, ignoring his comment, I slowly apply it on his forehead, startling him. "It's fine. You are bleeding. If it is too childish for you, then you can change it later." I say, helping him with it.
I hear him grunt slowly, and he lets me, "What is your name?" I ask, smiling as I put the bandage on him, he looks away, avoiding me, so I take it as if he doesn't want to tell me, nodding as I stand up, offering my hand. "I am Sierra Damaris. It was nice meeting you." I say, waiting for him to help himself or just let me.
I watch him take in a deep breath as he stands up by himself, and I pull my hand away, embarrassed.
He walks past me, but I freeze when I feel him against me, his chest flushed against my back, his breath nearing my ear, and all I can think of is stars in my head, my breath stuck, and eyes wide.
"Luthien." He mutters, I gasp.
I was about to turn around, but the next word from his mouth left me speechless. "Sir or boss, either works."
And he leaves, after giving me a zoo of flutters inside me, the audacity!!
