LOGAN'S POV
"Your Highness," Eunuch Yad called out to me.
I didn't bother turning to look at him.
He ran ahead, dropping to his knees in front of me.
That's when I finally stopped in my tracks.
I looked down at him his face pale, his
breathing labored, as if he had run for his life.
"Move," I ordered.
He shook his head. "Please, Your Highness, you will be punished if you go to meet that girl."
I scoffed at his plea.
"Me or you?" I stated flatly.
He hesitated before lifting his head, meeting my gaze. I raised a brow.
"Please, Your Highness," he muttered. "I have lived for many years, and I do not wish to die because of a mere human."o
"I won't say this again, Yad. Move before I
remove your head from your body."
"Please, Your Highness, the King-
"Damn the King," I muttered, stepping past him.
He scrambled ahead again, falling to his knees.
"Please, Your Highness, reconsider."
I ignored him.
Teleporting straight to the kitchen, I grabbed some food and then walked to my chamber.
Opening the door, I expected to find the girl awake, but there she was sleeping peacefully,
like a kitten.
I stared at her, trying to figure her out.
She looked fragile and powerless, yet I knew a force lay dormant inside her, waiting to be awakened.
She was freshened up, now wearing my black top and a pair of shorts that barely covered her thighs. My gaze lingered there for a moment before trailing to her face.
She was so small, so malnourished, that I could hold her with one hand.
Her face was still swollen and bruised, her
breathing uneven.
I had noticed earlier how difficult it was for herto talk, how much effort it took for her to drink water.
Placing the food tray beside the bed, I reached out and tapped her shoulder.
She rolled over, refusing to wake up.
"Kitten, wake up," I commanded.
Her eyes fluttered open. Soft, hesitant.
"Your food," I muttered, dragging my gaze from her face to her hair.
That strange blue hair.
Beautiful... yet oddly familiar.
She stared at me with those striking, stormy gray eyes.
I forced myself to look away, lowering my gaze to her neck.
My fangs ached.
Strange. I had fed before coming here drank enough blood at Brian's home. And yet... I wanted more.
I clenched my jaw and controlled the urge.
She sat up carefully, no longer wincing as she moved. My healing must have worked.
"Your food," I pointed out.
She glanced at the tray filled with fruit salad, steak, an assortment of meats, and orange juice.
Her eyes lit up in surprise.
"Me?" she asked in disbelief.
I raised an eyebrow, amused, and nodded.
Without hesitation, she grabbed the tray and dug in.
I watched as she devoured the food like she hadn't eaten in years.
"You're going to choke if you eat like that," I muttered.
She looked up, cheeks stuffed with food, then gulped it down. A small, sheepish smile tugged at her lips.
For a second, I froze.
That smile... was beautiful.
'She's beautiful,' my demon growled in my
head.
That was unusual. My demon never stirred unless I was in battle killing, destroying.
And yet, here he was, reacting to her.
"Sorry," she muttered.
I felt something unfamiliar stir inside me.
An emotion I didn't recognize.
But I didn't let it show.
I never smiled.
Minutes passed as I silently watched her eat.
When she finally cleared her plate, I took the tray.
"Thank you," she murmured.
I stopped in my tracks, turning my back on her.
"Go to sleep, Kitten. You need rest."
I heard the rustling of sheets, knowing she had obeyed my command.
Teleporting into the kitchen, I stilled.
My mother was there.
Her long reddish hair was braided neatly, her white royal robe adorned with the kingdom's mark.
I ignored her. I already knew why she was here to warn me, to order me to remove Brian's sister from our realm
"Is this what you've become?" she asked coldly.
"Ignoring your parents?"
"When have I ever listened to my parents?" i shot back.
Her lips pressea into a thin line. Logan, your father is furious. He is the King. You know bringing a human into our realm, our territory is forbidden."
" mom, I have no time for this" I mummured.
"ok fine, tell me why you brought that girl here?"
she asked
I didn't know the reason either, maybe out of sympathy.
maybe she was going to die, beingin her Father's clutches.
which is strange, I have never felt this feelings before,
but one this is for sure....
she evoked something in me, something
strange yet.....
Hauntingly familiar.
"I want her as my slave" I lied,
"seriously Logan, slave?",
"what happened to the rest we have here, and if you needed a human, you would've gotten it from, Brian."
I walked out of the kitchen my mom trailing behind me.
"Logan" she called out
"I know, I know. she's not staying here forever, shes just going to be here for just today" I muttered, tired of her constant ranting.
she sighed in relief, "good, your father would be at ease"
I rolled my eyes and teleported into the training ground.
Our armies of training, with all their strength.
this is the reason, we are the strongest among all race.
and also the reason for our downfall.
The prophecy.
Once bathed in dusk's eternal grace,
A throne of night, a crown's embrace.
The line of kings, of ancient lore,
Ruled shadowed realms forevermore.
Fangs of fate and crimson ties,
Whispers echoed through midnight skies.
A legacy carved in blood and bone,
A kingdom forged yet left alone.
Yet fate's cruel hand, a silent thief,
Planted seeds of loss and grief.
The halls grew cold, the torches dimmed,
A curse arose-dark fate was grim.
No heir remained to claim the right,
The stars withdrew their sacred light.
The stars withdrew their sacred light.
A prophecy in whispered tone-
A love forbidden, yet alone.
A heart untouched by dark decree,
A mortal soul-his destiny.
Her pulse, a song, so sweet, so rare,
A taste no royal lips should dare.
Yet bound they were by fate's demand,
Her touch revived the dying land.
A sacrifice, a sacred vow-
The bloodline's fall halted now.
For in the arms of love so pure,
The vampire's curse found its cure.
And in the dark where shadows weep,
A kingdom woke from death's deep sleep.
the prophecy, that hauted our kingdomfor
years and years, but it hasn't yet been fulfilled.
An old powerful witch, cursed our kingdom, because one of our kind aka, my great, great, great grandfather, killed her daughter and used her blood for his drink.
she was so angry that she put a curse on our kingdom.
I find it ridiculous, this wasn't real, and
everyone just be doing as if it is going affect us now when it didn't affect my father's father's generation.
the generation who caused it all.
