DINA'S POV
Blood... blood... all I could see was blood—blood on my hands, blood on the walls...
"Dina"
"Dina"
"Don't die"
"Mom," I whispered, my body trembling from the blood.
"Don't die," the voice continued chanting.
"Mom, I can hear you! Mom!" I yelled, my voice echoing around the empty halls.
"She can't hear you," a male voice muttered behind me.
I turned around to see no one behind me.
"Who said that?" I asked.
"I did," the voice said, this time in front of me.
This time, there was someone in front of me.
tall, dark-skinned man with dark eyes and long white hair that cascaded down his shoulders.
A strangled scream tore from my throat, my chest tightening as I stumbled backward.
"Kitten... Kitten, wake up."
I gasped as I sat up on the bed, beads of sweat filling my head.
I looked around at my surroundings—the dark room...
That reminded me of the man with white hair.
"Kitten," my face darted to the direction of the voice, to see the stranger from earlier looking at me with an annoyed look on his face.
I remembered he brought me into his realm...
He looked angry... Was I going to get punished?
I stood up from the bed.
"I'm... sorry," I bowed in apology.
"You had a nightmare, didn't you?" he asked, and I nodded while keeping my gaze lowered.
"Look at me, Kitten," he muttered.
I slowly lifted my gaze to his.
His piercing green eyes stared down at me like he could see my soul.
I gulped, he made me nervous, and I am not sure yet if it is in a good or bad way.
He laid on the bed, where I was...
Was he laying down with me?
I blushed at the thought.
No one has ever lay down with me.
"Don't be ridiculous, it's his bed, where do you expect him to lay, on the floor?" my mind stated.
"Am... sorry," I muttered again.
"Come here," he said, tapping the side of the bed that I was sleeping on.
"Run."
A voice whispered.
I turned to look for the voice but saw no one but him and I.
"Did... did you hear that?" I asked.
"Hear what?" he asked.
It may be from my mind, I thought.
Run...
That voice whispered again.
"Come, sit here, kitten."
He looked different. His dark hair was messy, as if he had tried to drag it out from its roots. His green eyes... those eyes looked familiar.
Blood...
"Kitten."
He raised an eyebrow.
"I'm sorry, but no," I muttered.
"No?"
I nodded. "I don't know you or why you brought me here. I heard it is forbidden for a human to be in your realm." I muttered under my breath.
"You ungrateful bitch," my mind sneered. He brought you here, healed your wounds, fed you, and this is how you repay him?"
I knew. I knew I was going to be punished for this.
He stared at me for a moment, then stood up from the bed.
I felt my heart race with each step he took toward me.
He stood in front of me, his height intimidating.
"What do you want to know, kitten?"
Kitten.
That name, he always called me that. I had never been given a pet name before, so I never even bothered to tell him my real name.
"I..."
A thousand questions ran through my mind, but the first one that escaped my lips was
"Are you married?" I muttered.
He stared at me for a moment before bursting into laughter.
His laugh was beautiful, warm, and oddly familiar... It was so mesmerizing that I blushed and smiled a little.
"Oh my god, kitten," he laughed again. "I can't breathe! You're so funny."
He wiped a tear from his eye, still chuckling.
"You really have no idea, do you?" he muttered.
I was confused. "No, I have no idea," I replied.
He coughed slightly. "No, I'm not married," he said. I nodded.
"Let me ask you a question," he blurted.
I stared into his eyes, and it felt like I was in a trance.
"Do you know who I am?"
I shook my head.
He nodded, then asked, "What's your name?"
I felt his gaze studying me.
"Logan del Yan," he said.
That name... I had heard it before.
I nodded, and he continued to study me, amusement tracing his expression.
"Umm... why were you at our kingdom?" I asked.
"I came to visit a friend," he stated bluntly.
I narrowed my eyes. "Vampires and humans can't be friends. We are Literally your source of food."
He smirked.
"If that is so, I would have drunk your blood several times already, kitten," he stated.
That was true. Several times, I had been vulnerable to him. bruised, injured, covered in blood. Instead of drinking my blood, he healed me and took care of me.
Why? Why did he do all that?
He wasn't even related to me.
Not even my own father cared for me.
He's a predator, and I'm his prey.
"Your thoughts are written all over your face, kitten."
I looked up at him.
"You have a habit of thinking too much, don't you?" he questioned.
"Who is your friend?" I asked.
He stared at me, observing me for a moment before uttering,
"Prince Brian of the Linton Kingdom."
I gasped.
He… was a friend of Brian.
I'm doomed. I'm going to get killed.
"Dimitri…"
"Dimitri…"
A voice whispered in my head.
"Dimitri."
I voiced it out without thinking.
He was getting stoned to death because of me.
Because he had been near me. Because he had helped me. And now… the same fate awaited him.
Logan furrowed his brows.
"I can't be here," I muttered slowly.
"What are you talking about, kitten?"
"You'll get in trouble for being with me. Please, just take me back to where you found me," I pleaded in haste.
Dimitri…
Is he dead by now?
Is he alive?
I want to know, but I can't get my answers while being here.
"Kitten," he muttered.
"Take me back. You'll get in trouble you might be killed. Don't risk your life because of me."
"No one is getting killed," he said firmly, gripping my shoulders.
Despite his steady hold, my body still trembled with fear.
"You don't understand. You'll be in danger just for being with me—"
Before I could finish my sentence, a loud knock echoed through the room.
