"Uhm... Hello."
Leonidas was surprised by what he saw, the person who was standing in front of him and just looking at him like some stranger or intruder, wasn't who he thought it was going to be.
Instead of meeting a young boy who was supposed to be his age by now, wasn't there; but for some reason it looked like that same boy had changed into a girl.
It was either that or maybe Klaus was so powerful that he'd actually shift into different genders; which would make him gender fluid.
But luckily enough that wasn't the case, funny enough it wasn't just Leonidas who had that pale and freaked out look that he wore on his face, when he actually saw his new sibling.
The girl who was supposed to be a boy named Klaus, was just as stunned as confused as she could ever get for a ten year old girl; in her room there was a stranger who just dug into her room and tried to sneak in.
If she wasn't there, she was definitely going to be clueless about the whole thing, and not even be aware about this thing that is happening before her very eyes.
Leonidas was still standing inside the secret passage, he hasn't come out; just yet. Klaudine who was the name of the girl, didn't know what to do or even react to him.
After all she'd never met him before in her entire life, so it was normal for her to assume and take him as an intruder who just broke in her house.
Looking at his features, she couldn't help but feel like this young boy wasn't going to be any threat to her; because even though she didn't know much about him, the confidence she had in herself was estounding.
From just looking at him, she could see that she was far stronger than him and on the other hand was just a feeble compared to her.
The awkwardness and the silence that surrounded Klaudine's room was so powerful, it felt like to bulls were about to fight against each other for the throne.
Leonidas who was now starting to feel the exhaustion of lifting up the rock, which was still in his hand.
"Huh... Aren't you going to invite me in?" He teased, because he wanted to see her reaction.
She didn't answer him just yet, something had changed in her eyes; it was like they were no longer just looking at him with confusion but more like with precise studying him.
It looked like she was looking for something in him, something that would serve as an excuse for her; that she could use to deal with him.
Nothing much had changed about the new and unpredictable character change, she was still as power as who she was originally supposed to be.
And knowing how her mother and father were going to act, if they found out that an intruder got inside the house undetected; then went to her room and she didn't do anything to him to make him pay.
Trouble was something she was going to be in and that's one thing she didn't want to dream about.
'who is this feeble, strange looking boy? I mean I've never actually seen him before, is he a stray that was taking a chance on hunting food that he actually came into my room and my family house?' a lot of questions were going unanswered and she hated that.
Meanwhile Leonidas who was so adamant of getting this big and heavy rock, off him; was just looking at her. Being indecisive.
"Excuse me, Uhm look, maybe you can decide on what to do to me. Once I come inside because... This... thing...is... really... starting to be heavily." He pretended like he was about to be crushed.
In the book, Klaudine is portrayed as someone ruthless, emotionless and just dead from the inside; in the book she was just going to let the rock crush him, if it actually went this long without her killing him off the first moment he got up there.
No questions asked, just a severe shattered head just rolling on her; rough floor.
At least that's what he was expecting, so as much as he put on a brave face and show; he couldn't be feel a little scared in her presence.
She kinda disappointed him, she helped get the rock out of his hands and invited him; actually.
Stunned by this out of nowhere kindness, Leonidas showed some gratitude.
"Eh... Thank you very much, you just saved my butt from being that rock's squash."
Seeing that the boy she just saved and invited showed gratitude towards her, and feeling the sincerity that his gratitude came with. She couldn't help but smile... Then she remembered her father's words of wisdom.
'look little girl, you have the Valak blood in your veins, my blood so... Don't you dare mock our last name by becoming exactly like your sisters, you're different from them. You're the one born with my inevitable abilities, so people will want to use you and play you; so be cold, distant and ruthless like me.'
Just like that she was able to regain herself and composure, then became serious once again.
"Look you didn't formally introduced yourself." She said while folding her arms.
"That's because you didn't ask me to formally introduce myself." Leonidas countered her question.
Caught off guard by this, she couldn't believe the audacity of this kid; was he brave or stupid talking to her like that, doesn't he know who is in his presence.
"Well, then introduce yourself." She ordered him.
"You first." He didn't feel threatened by her.
Not knowing what to do in this situation, because in most cases whenever she ordered someone to do something; they would instantly became of the fear that her name possessed and her.
She just gave him that be careful look, but in the end she finally gave in.
"You're in the presence of the heiress of tomorrow, Klaudine Valak... In fact you should be in your knees right now worshipping me."
Leonidas couldn't help but share a smirk, he knew exactly what he was doing by standing up to her.
"Well in that case, I am Leonidas Valak, the first and only son of the Valak Clan."
After hearing him say his name, she couldn't just simply believe it; she flinched like a computer getting so many pop up ads at the same time.
She couldn't believe it, was he telling her the truth or he was just pulling her leg? Shocked she couldn't help herself but get a little bit closer and now there she was, all over him like a dog snuffing out a hidden bone.
That gave him the creeps and discomfort, already he was a bit disappointed that he found her instead of him, he stood still regardless of his uncomfort.
And waited for her to finish up.
"You don't believe me? Then why don't you use your sonar eyes, to see whether I'm telling the truth or not." He made a suggestion.
Sonar eyes, where special eyes that were part of the sacred six years; so him knowing about them was kinda odd, especially when it came to Klaudine.
Why?
Well, no one actually knew about the sonar eyes since not even one person had possessed them, not even the patriarch and matriach of the Valak Clan or other clans; but Klaudine was the only one who was the one who possessed them.
It seemed like Leonidas had the power to actually get into Klaudine's head, because of everything he said and the way that he had responded to her.
He didn't show any fear or whatever that he should have felt and experienced while he was still there.
Feeling vulnerable around this person, this kid gave her that icky feeling so she maintained a good distance between them.
Giving her a chance to use the sonar eyes that he had suggested, but for some reason she really didn't use it on him; more like activated it on him, but didn't really use it.
Something in her just made her, feel like she could trust him and that was a new feeling to her; it felt quite strange.
Even though they were both siblings it would be hard to say that they were identical or even had that smallest resemblance, because they didn't.
Though they were both the children of the Valak Clan, they still had different mothers and personalities. Leonidas being Heterochromia and poliosis.
Getting both eye and hair colour from both his mother and father, then it's Klaudine who really looked like her father; with long black hair, a pale and smooth skin, her eyes that were a little bit golden brown-ish and she and her new brother were the exact same height.
Wanting to pick her brother's abilities, she actually suggested that they spar.
"I think you and I should spar."
"Why?" Leonidas curious.
"So I can see if you are really my brother and the son of the Valak Clan." She explained.
"And what if I'm not meeting your satisfaction?" He tried to see what she'll say.
"Well, death of course; as you know in our family we do not accept weaklings." She said as she smiled.
That meant that Leonidas was in big trouble and he was going to die, because even if he got to see her child side; she was still not different from her reputation.
Knowing very well that he couldn't combat, because he wasn't allowed; he gulped.
And just like that.
