"His name was Masako Sarei. For the short time I met him, I could tell he was a caring and strong swordsman. Had I not been there, he probably would've survived the battle against the undead monster." Kairo says as he slides his fingers down the blade of the sword.
"Undead... Monster? Wait, that actually reminded me that Ingrid also noticed something at school as well!" Marin recalled as she hammered her right hand into her left palm.
"They're known as Fissures, but the fact Ingrid could see them but you can't is still one of the many mysteries to me." Kairo stated as he stood up and walked over to his desk. Quickly grabbing a pencil and a piece of paper to start drawing them out.
As he begins scribbling their appearance, Marin could tell from Ingrid's blinking eyes that this wasn't going to work. The moment he held up the paper of the Fissure, Marin looked at it as if it was one of those abstract and confusing paintings in an art museum.
"I think what he meant to show you was this." Ingrid handed Marin another drawing; however, this one was refined and detailed. It showed the appearance of the Fissure perfectly.
"Wait, this is what you saw on the sports field? It has no face!" Marin exclaimed as he continued looking at it. But while she was focused on the drawing.
Ingrid felt a hole burning into the back of his head; as his head jolted to the side, he found his eyes locked with Kairo.
"My drawing was just fine... Where'd you even get that one?" Kairo childishly mumbled.
"I drew it myself. After all, art was one of my hobbies since I was a kid." Ingrid turned back towards Marin as his calm composure sent Kairo through the ceiling.
"Mine was just as good as yours!" Kairo shouted as he held his back up for both Marin and Ingrid to revise.
"I apologize, it's very good. I think you'd probably be in first place in a kindergarten art contest." Ingrid smirked slightly as he continued watching Kairo get angrier.
Marin, feeling worried, decides to step in with her hands up.
"Now, now, guys, both are very helpful. So why don't we just figure out some more things?" Marin concerningly remarks as she steps back and gets comfortable again.
As the group remained quiet, Kairo continued looking at the bracelet he was given by the mysterious woman. But it slowly started sparking ideas in his head.
"That mysterious woman who knocked you guys out gave me this after asking me if I was intentionally letting my soul leak out. So I wonder if it has something to do with our souls." Kairo questioned as he held up his right arm to examine the bracelet more.
"Precisely." A mysterious voice exclaimed from a nearby window.
The entire group's attention jumped to it as the mysterious woman from before was sitting between the window, swinging her right leg gently as she continued listening to the conversation.
"It seems you aren't just a handsome face after all." She teases as she continues sitting in the window.
"I-It's you again!? How did you—!" Kairo found himself shocked but quickly interrupted.
"Now, now, you don't think I'd let you out of my sight just like that, did you?" The mysterious woman remarks as she raises her right fan and swipes it open to cover the lower part of her face.
"It seems you're finally understanding more of the world you've dipped your toes into." Unsure of her expression, Kairo continued watching her eyes.
"How do you know all this?" Kairo questioned as he required answers, along with Marin and Ingrid.
"Sadly, I don't think you truly understand what it is you're involved in now. Not only that, I also wonder if you'll know how this new world works or if you'll fall victim to a Fissure or worse before you learn. What say you, Kairo Neru? What type of Sentarii are you?"
"Sentarii? What's a Sentarii?" Kairo questioned.
"You mean you took up the proxy position and didn't know what you were turning into? Man, I pity the situation that forced Masako to make you his proxy." The mysterious woman remarked.
"It matters not; Masako was doomed from the start. The Fissure he fought was stronger than most other Fissures." The Mysterious Woman explained.
"But how could I defeat it and Masako couldn't?! That doesn't make any sense!" Kairo felt frustration at the mysterious woman who continued to speak her mind.
"That's why I'm here. I'm looking into the matter itself, but I also wanted to meet the one Masako entrusted his sword to, and from my first impressions... You could use some work." The mysterious lady smirked behind her fan, but Kairo couldn't see it.
"Earlier you stated the reason Kairo and I could see Fissures was because of our souls. Why is that?" Ingrid questioned, as he sought answers himself.
While Marin was quietly munching on the snacks Nasaki had brought earlier. She munched and focused on everything happening as if she was watching a drama on television.
"As for Kairo, that answer is simple. It was because of his awakening into a Proxy Sentarii. But as for you, it is possible you may possess a stronger soul than others. Which could result in such things as seeing Fissures or even Sentarii." The mysterious lady fanned herself a bit but continued keeping part of her face covered.
But before another question could be asked by Kairo or even Ingrid,. Marin raised her hand from the back to get the mysterious lady's attention. As everyone focused on Marin, she suddenly shouted the question everyone was truly wanting to know deep down.
"If you know Kairo's name, then how come he doesn't know your name?" Marin questions as she lowers her hand and resumes eating and drinking her juice.
"Haha, well, I guess while I'm here, I also believe I should introduce myself properly." Her eyes held a striking visual on the group.
CLACK
The mysterious woman closes her fan and jumps into the room from out of the window.
"My name is Chirashi Yasagi; I've been dying to meet you."
