As students separate based on their assigned divisions. All three sentinel leaders group up to converse.
"Well, look at you; you must be tired from all that leadership demonstration." Takahari teased as he kept what Kentoya said in the back of his mind.
"I'll make sure it's you up there next year, Takahari." Kentoya snapped back calmly.
"Oh please, anything but that; he'd probably just have the students do the oath and move on." Yurino scoffed as she crossed her arms and leaned closer to Takahari, giving him a glare.
"What's so wrong with just wanting to relax? Everyone's too worked up these days." Takahari exhaled as he smiled with his eyes closed.
As the trio conversed, another figure approached, and all three instantly fixed their posture in response.
"It seems you three are as lively as ever." A tall, long-haired man said as he smiled with a wave of his hand, gesturing for them to ease up.
"Marshal Ota! What brings you to the graduation?" Yurino asks in awe.
"Just simply that, I wanted to see how you three were faring with the dividing of the seniors. Even if I am a marshal, nurturing the future generation should be on my list of responsibilities." Ota expressed as he turned towards all the scrambled seniors.
Yurino leans close to Takahari to whisper something to him.
"Wow, maybe you could learn a thing or two from Marshal Ota." Yurino mocked as she quickly leaned away.
Takahari's face showed a smile, but it was noticeably twitching. Causing Ota to notice it.
"Is something the matter, Takahari?" Ota asked curiously.
"N-No sir, I thought a bug had touched my face, is all." Takahari exclaimed, trying to keep Marshal Ota from hearing the remark from Yurino.
"Ha, it is that time of year, isn't it?" Ota looking out at the many magnolia trees around Solnera.
"Actually, while you're here, Marshal Ota, I did want to ask you something about a proxy that had recently appeared." Kentoya asked.
"Right, I guess that would be two reasons why I'm here. I've come to talk to you three. About an earthling known as Kairo Neru."
Kairo's house—two hours later
Marin and Ingrid had left after Kairo finally managed to calm down. However, not even five minutes later, Nasaki forced him downstairs to do the dishes.
"Man, why do I have to do the dishes? I didn't even eat anything!" Kairo complained.
Causing Nasaki to rush up behind him and deliver a swift kick to his butt.
"Stop complaining! They were your guests; you take responsibility for them!" Nasaki shouts as she lands back on her feet.
Kairo's butt was on fire as he leaned over the sink, holding onto it.
"Now finish up so I can turn the lights off and finish up cleaning." Nasaki demanded as she walked away to finish cleaning the living room.
"If you didn't hit me every three seconds, I'd already be done!" Kairo shouted.
"If you didn't complain every three seconds, you'd be done faster!" Nasaki! he remarked angrily.
A few minutes later, Kairo finished drying the last cup and placed it into the cupboard. However, as he turned around to turn the lights off, he noticed Nasaki already sleeping on the couch.
Kairo instantly felt an uncontrollable scoff come from his throat, even followed by a head shake of disbelief. But as it all slowly started to fade, he quietly grabbed a blanket from their closet and gently laid it over her. Turning the lights off and sneakily going upstairs to his room.
As Kairo sat in his study chair, he just fiddled with the bracelet on his arm. Thinking about what Chirashi said over and over.
Even to the point he began tapping his finger on his desk. The mystery of it all pulling him in different directions. His overthinking, his reluctant emotion, and the feeling he has when he wields the sword. This new world he stepped into had him raveled into a tightly knotted piece.
Beep Beep
His consciousness was so out of focus, he completely missed the ringing of his phone's ringtone.
Beep Beep
Slowly he could feel himself recalibrating to reality.
Beep Beep
Immediately as he refocused, he reached for his phone and answered it.
"Hello?" Kairo said, waiting for a response from the other side of the phone.
Yet it was quiet, but as Kairo waited, the silence started revealing a bit more. A sort of whispering sound, the longer he waited, the louder it started to get. The distortion of the whispering started becoming more apparent, and a sudden drop in Kairo's heart caused him to drop his phone and reach for his sword. The moment he grasped it, a sudden force ripped him from his bedroom. Breaking the wall as his body smashed through it like a wrecking ball.
Within seconds his body rolled onto the street in front of his house. Blood drools from his head as he shakily pushes himself up.
A distorted laugh filled the air as Kairo's eyes readjusted to see a Fissure, but something about it was different. Something about it felt more sinister as it had tendrils swaying from its back and its white, featureless head split vertically like a Venus flytrap.
"W-What the hell, is that a Fissure? It looks different." Kairo questioned as he forced himself to stand.
This fissure was decaying more; its body was starved and skeletal-shaped, as it was extremely thin. It's back, waving around three rotten tendrils like additional appendages. As well as an already formed jaw that was vertical compared to the previous one.
Kairo, aching from the pain, looked up at his house and noticed the hole and broken window of his room.
"Nasaki isn't going to be happy about that." Kairo mumbled as he reached for his blade that lay on the ground beside him. But as he tries to reach for it, one of the tendrils shoots for his hand and lodges itself between his hand and the sword.
"You're worthless..." The Fissure spoke in a distorted male voice.
Kairo froze in place at this Fissure's words.
"You never should've been born!" The Fissure spoke again.
Kairo watched as it slowly started approaching, his sword still not in his hand.
"You're the reason your sister's dead... You're a monster." The fissure's voice, breaking even more as it moved forward.
