As the air settles, Marin finds her tears slowly halting. Kairo approaches as Marin continues to process the chain of events that just occurred.
Kairo, kneeling beside her as she continues looking at the sky where Karla drifted off to. No words were exchanged, as Kairo placed his left hand on her back and looked up into the sky as well.
The Next Day—School Rooftop
Kairo looks out from the edge into Karakami Town, observing the simplistic beauty of it. However, as his peace is quickly interrupted, two familiar faces come barging through the rooftop entrance.
"Kairo!! Let's have lunch together!" Marin! she announced as she came running to him.
Ingrid was also following behind, but less noisy as he also made his way over to Kairo.
"So did you plan to be a loner on the rooftops like in those books you like to read?" Ingrid teased as he quickly took a seat on the ground and pulled out his lunch.
"Maybe I did! Ever think about that? You overgrown blueberry!" Kairo retaliated as he sneered at Ingrid.
"Oh, someone's a little touchy today." Ingrid mocked back as he started taking bites of his lunch.
Kairo inhaled, preparing to give Ingrid another round. But his mind started to simmer down and reel him back in to a calmer mindset. Kairo looked over at Marin, who was just focusing on her lunch in peace.
"Marin, how do you feel?" Kairo asked worriedly as he crouched down to join the group on the ground.
Marin slowly sets down her lunch as a slight smile appears on her face.
"Honestly, I'm not entirely sure how I'm feeling. A part of me is relieved that Karla is somewhere better. But another part of me still blames myself for her death." Marin grieved as she looked down at her lunch. Avoiding eye contact with both Kairo and Ingrid.
"Death... Karla... Did I miss something?" Ingrid questioned as he injected himself into the conversation.
Kairo glanced over at him with a faint nod.
"Last night, two fissures appeared, one at my house and another at Marin's." Kairo shared as he looked back at Marin.
"Two? You mean Chirashi didn't kill all the fissures in the area from the time at the warehouse?" Ingrid exclaimed as he leaned back.
"The one that came after me tried to use some of my grief against me as a diversion. It even ripped me out of my room through my wall. Had Nasaki not been there, I would've probably been killed." Kairo agonized as he fell onto his butt and leaned against the wall.
"But if Chirashi also didn't show up, I believe Nasaki would still be wounded from that fight too." Kairo murmured, followed by a sigh as he looked up at the sky.
"But what about you, Marin? How did you manage to survive?" Ingrid inquired as he began munching on his lunch again.
"Well, I didn't fight or anything crazy like that. Because after all it was my first time seeing a fissure, and I—."
"It was quite a sight to see you handle the situation like that for someone who usually can't see fissures. I was truly impressed." A quick and witty familiar voice interjected as another individual appeared before them.
"C-Chirashi?! What are you doing here?!" Kairo exclaimed as Chirashi appeared dressed in their school attire, yet a few of her top buttons were undone due to how large her breasts were.
"That outfit is mind-blowing..." Ingrid murmured as he continued eating his lunch in awe.
"Ah, what's all the shyness for? I just came to join the conversation." Chirashi, she said as she dashed by and appeared behind Ingrid, her breasts resting on his head as she held an amused face.
"Are you going to eat that? I'm dying of starvation!" Chirashi reaches down for a roll in Ingrid's lunch.
However, as Ingrid was in complete shock from his current situation, he calmly sat there, his face blank and soul stagnant.
"Delicious! Did you make this, Ingrid?! It's so good!" Chirashi! exclaimed as she ate the roll and smiled blissfully.
Kairo waved his hand in front of Ingrid's face to try and get a response.
"Yep, he's definitely gone." Kairo reported respectfully.
"Oh dear..." Marin confided in response.
"Now that that's out of the way." Chirashi, she states as she stands up and removes her bosom from Ingrid's head.
"You did well last night; you even learned another important part of this world you've all been brought into... As you learned, fissures will use any part of your soul to try and take it for themselves. Whether that's manipulation or brute force. However, Marin, you also managed to cleanse a howling soul with only your emotions. Very few can do that." Chirashi, she informed as she stood looking at the group.
"But these battles are only the beginning. I still fear you won't get much further if you don't allow me to train you, Kairo. You were lucky I had appeared to help you last night, but I can't have you relying on me every time you're in danger; as a Proxy, you must be strong enough to keep Karakami Town safe with your blade." Chirashi lectured as she started adjusting her tight top.
"Man, how do you wear these? They're so tight for no reason." Chirashi complained.
Marin started softly laughing as Kairo felt a twitch in his eye.
"Or maybe you just have an abnormal rack!" Kairo shouted in irritation.
"Well, I guess that's true." Chirashi murmurs as she examines her bosom.
"Whatever the situation, my question still stands... Kairo Neru, will you let me train you and turn you into a powerful Sentarii Proxy?" Chirashi questioned as the wind began breezing through. Her white hair flowing as her crimson-shaded eyes stayed locked onto Kairo.
Kairo gripped a part of his pants, bunching it up in his hand. Before feeling a strong grin start forming on his face.
"If it makes me strong enough to kill any fissure bastard that hurts the ones I care about, then."
Marin and Ingrid glance at Kairo as he drops his head.
"I'll take on any hellish training you've got!" Kairo shouts, jerking his head up in excitement.
