. I slowly went down the staircase. Nostalgia hit me as I recalled every piece of furniture and the history behind it. I finally made it to the mansion's front door. Father's men stared at me as I slowly strode out of the mansion. The whole security team bowed as I walked past them. All I had on me was my phone, and I could only reach out to one person.

I dialed his number. After a few rings, he answered, his voice laced with tiredness and perhaps a sleepy tone.
"Sorry for calling, Uncle. Could you come pick me up from the mansion, please?" I asked, feeling bad for waking him up. He answered with a "See you soon" tone. I ended the call, looking around the mansion, taking a last mental photograph of the place I grew up in. You never know what you are missing until the last moments of having it. I walked outside the gate of the mansion, waiting for my ride.
