Chapter 16 - Invitation

After receiving the magical bracelet from the Orientation, everyone dispersed towards their respective classrooms and discuss with each other on the matters tackled in the orientation.

Aziel however, went directly towards the Principal's office just behind the huge statue in the hallway.

At the Principal's doorstep he was greeted by the four ladies from the student council.

"I see, the Principal wanted to talk to you huh. Be sure to have a good character when talking to him or you'll regret it." Claire warned Aziel as he walked towards the door.

"knock" "knock" "knock"

"Come in, the door's open." A voice from inside the office called out.

"Forgive my intrusion." Aziel bowed towards the principal after he went inside and closed the door.

"Come here, have a seat." The principal calls Aziel.

He was sitting in front of a coffee table drinking a cup of tea.

"What do you want to drink? Coffee or tea?" Domuscos asked.

"Forgive me for my rudeness but I don't really drink coffee or tea. But a glass of water won't hurt." Aziel replied in the most polite way possible.

"Ohhh! Alright, come here have a seat." Domuscos ordered.

"Thank you sir." Aziel politely obeyed.

"May I know which part of the Kingdom did you came from?" Domuscos curiously asked.

"I came from the domain of Viscount Von Rayshik, Sir. " Aziel replied, making sure he doesn't slip his tounge.

"Von? Ohhh, that kid! So he manage to raised a talented kid huh. How is he?" Domuscos asked, calling middle aged Von a kid.

"Yes Sir. He was doing great for his age, and yes he's a relative of mine. Do you know him, sir?" Aziel politely asked.

"Of course I do! He was one of my students back in the day when I was still teaching. Although he didn't have a potential for magic, I saw a great leadership in him. It's good to hear that he's doing well." Domuscos happily replied, reminiscing his past as he talk.

"Uhm sir? May I know what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Aziel directly asked, a small sweat coming from his forehead could be seen by the old man's perceptive gaze.

"Hohoho! You don't have to be so nervous about it. I only invited you for a tea and to have a small chat with you." Domuscos replied.

"Really sir?" Aziel couldn't believe that the reason why he was invited to the principal's office was just to have a tea and a small talk.

"No!" Domuscos replied with his face turning 180 degrees from happy to being serious.

The old man's action made Aziel tensed up.

"I want to talk to you because I want to invite you on the next tournament of magic." Domuscos speak in a low voice.

Although he casts a barrier spell that blocks the sound to the outside, he still wants to talk in his low voice to add suspense to those he had invited.

"Hohohoho! Your reaction is priceless, you need to relax a bit. Hohoho! So what do you think?" Domuscos laughingly asked Aziel, as his prank went success.

"Heh. Can I have a time to think?" Aziel asked not sure if the old man was serious or just pranking him.

"Hohoho! No. I already wrote your name on the list. Hohoho! Don't worry, you still got over one year to prepare for the tournament." Domuscos said.

Aziel find Domuscos as a sly old man.

"What was the purpose of asking me if I didn't have a choice to turn it down?" Aziel replied to the old man raising his voice a bit.

"Hohoho! Bold one. I like that character. Now train your body, and study well. I will be assessing you every end of the semester." Domuscos laughingly waved his hand to let Aziel out of the room while he's still in a good mood to enjoy his tea.

"Tsk! What a weird old man!" Aziel's thought as he walked out of the room.

When Aziel opened the door, Claire and her companions fall down inside the room. They were listening through the door but couldn't hear anything so they pressed their ears to the door, making them fall down in an awkward way after Aziel opened it.

Aziel wasn't in the mood to entertain them so he left without saying a word.

The other four apologized to the old man and left as well after closing the door.

"Hmmmp. What an interesting fellow." The old man said as he take a sip from his newly brewed tea.

Aziel was walking fast away from the student council as he didn't want to talk to them. However, the same thing couldn't be said to the ladies, as they follow Aziel calling him out in the hallway.

This made Aziel snapped and turn towards them.

"What is it!? Don't you think you've been bothering me right now?" Aziel raised his voice.

"Ah! What a rude kid you are. Don't you think we deserve more respect than this?" Catherine replied also raising her voice.

"Just so you know, we were not bothering you!" Christine added.

"Why are you following me then?" Aziel replied.

"We just wanted to know what have you discussed with the principal." Claire clarifies their intention.

"It's none of your business, and if it was, I'm sure the principal himself would let you know about it. Don't you think so 'Miss Student Council President'?" Aziel finished his sentence then left.

Catherine was about to launch herself to Aziel but she was stopped by Claire.

"That's enough. He has a point. Let's just continue with the investigation for now." Claire ordered.

"Yes ma'am." Catherine replied timidly.

They all went into their separate ways after having that conversation. Luckily no one was in the hallway to witness their interaction.

Aziel went directly towards his room and took a bath to freshen himself. He also wanted to talk towards his two companions about what to do.

"Miss Eleanor, Sir Drako, what do I do? Shall I go with the old man's plan?" Aziel asked the two as he took his time in the bath.

"It's okay, I don't think it was a bad idea. Sooner or later we are still going to face those gods, all we gonna have to do right now is to train." Eleanor stated.

"You however!" Eleanor raised her voice.

"Woah. Why? What have I done?" Aziel covering his head, imagining the smack from Eleanor as he heard her raise her voice.

"You know what? Ever since you got admitted to the Academy, I never saw you trained anymore! And it's making me worry!" Eleanor yelled in Aziel brain.

Aziel realized that it was because he wasn't training anymore that he felt fear against the unknown. Although he was constantly meditating to train his magical powers, training his body was a different story.

"I am very sorry Miss Eleanor. I became complacent and forgot to train my body constantly. Thank you for reminding me!" Aziel quickly got out from the bathroom and went into his bed where he meditate.

Aziel's meditation this time was a bit different. He was forcing his energy out of his body but at the same time he was absorbing everything making it exhausting than the boulder training.

Although this meditation can enhance one's body, physical training was still the best way to train as it can enhance movements, reaction time, and everything else that cannot be enhance by just meditating.

"I feel like it's not enough, but I lack time for today. I will start retraining my body again tomorrow. It seems like I'm getting rusty and my body seems heavier than usual."

Aziel decided to skip his training for the day and walks outside the room.

A few moments later, he then went to grab dinner at the cafeteria.

"What will I eat today? It doesn't matter, whatever is served there I will give thanks and eat it."

When he was about to reach the cafeteria, he saw familiar faces from a far.

"Looks like they beat me into it."

Aziel smiled when he saw his friends eating in the cafeteria.

"I should hurry, I can't be left behind when it comes to eating, hehe."
