Chapter 28 - I am the one who will 'Remain'

Chapter 28

At the side of the Devil's, Abyss is talking with the 'High One':

"So it seems that Ariach was also defeated. Ark managed to solve the problem that you left, much sooner than expected."

The 'High One' answers with an unperturbed voice:

"Don't worry, we still have enough time. Ark will go to help the other Empires on Earth first, and that gives us enough time to get our plan back on track."

Abyss looks at him and asks with a questioning look:

"How do you know that? Why are you so sure?"

Under the 'High One's' dark hood, Abyss sees something like a smile, and then he hears him:

"I know, because Ark is too arrogant. He trusts too much in himself. He thinks that now that he is back, everything will go how he wants. But that mentality is what will kill him."

Abyss looks at him with a half-believing face, not really buying it. But with no choice but to continue the plan, as the 'High One' says, he thinks to himself, 'Just you wait. I will be the one who will benefit the most. I will be the one who laughs at the end.'

On the big player's side, Kyle is trying to talk with the other Empires on Earth to see who needs immediate help, so they know where to go first.

"Here is Kyle Storm. The Third Empire managed to repel the Devils. We can offer help to those who need it."

Then immediately all the Empires on Earth are asking for backup, all needing help, most of them already on the brink of complete destruction.

But the direst one who needs help is the Fifth Empire:

"Here is the Fifth Empire. We've already lost all our fighters. The only ones remaining are the three strongest: one Universe Fighter Level 4, and two Galaxy Conquerors Level 10, one step away from the Destroyer level. They are fighting against only one invader, but he destroyed most of our Empire, alone. We need backup immediately before we lose the last three hopes we have for our Empire. Please send someone soon."

Then Kyle looks toward the rest of them and says:

"I think we need to split up. That is the only way we can help them all. I say Ark can go to the Fifth Empire. He is the only one who can get there fast enough to save them."

The rest of the gang nod at Kyle. Then Zmaug says:

"I agree. It's the only way we can save as many as possible."

Then Elion also says something:

"I need to speak with my Master. I need to ask how the situation at the Ancestral Home is first, and if they need my help. After, I will tell you if I can go to the other Empires."

The other big players nod, then Elion goes to contact his Master.

Niobe asks the others:

"How will we split up, and who will stay here to defend the City of Hope?"

Then Ark answers:

"I will go to the Fifth Empire. Melody will stay here. Zmaug and Leah can go to the First Empire, Elion and Niobe to the Second Empire, and Kyle will go to the Fourth. Then, when I am done, I will go and help Kyle first, then we will come to help the next one in line."

The big players all say okay. They have no problem with the arrangements.

Then Ark says to Terra:

"Little Marshmallow, you need to stay here with Big Sister Melody, and you have to be good while I am away. And when I come back, I will bring you a present."

Immediately, Terra makes big "cry eyes," but in the end, she just nods and says to Ark:

"I understand, big brother. I will be good. Come back fast, okay?"

Then she goes to Melody and takes her hand, her head down, feeling sad.

All look at her, their heartstrings being pulled, especially Leah. She almost says that she won't go, that she wants to stay here with her because her father can manage alone, he doesn't need her help. But in the end, she doesn't say anything. She thinks, 'I will have enough time to play with her when I come back. Right now, we need to save the people.'

Melody almost jumps up from joy, happy that she will have the little marshmallow all to herself. A big smile is on her face.

Then Elion also comes back and tells them:

"The Elves don't need my help. I can go and help the other Empires. The Devils didn't manage to enter the dimension where the Ancestral Tree is. So where should I go?"

Kyle answers:

"You will go to the Second Empire with Niobe. She will tell you about the rest on the way. Now we need to hurry and go."

Then all the big players are heading towards the 'Gates.' They will teleport as close as they can, then fly the rest of the way.

Ark just teleports by himself to the Fifth Empire, because if he teleports the other big players directly to where the Devil leaders are, they will miss a lot of people that could be saved if they flew.

So they decided it's better to fly than to be teleported directly there by Ark.

Then Ark appears in a world of snow and cold, where the Fifth Empire is located, where the old 'North Pole' once was.

Of course, now it is almost a hundred times colder than it was then, and the coldness is not a normal one. This coldness could freeze even souls. It is cold mixed with Dark Energy from all the way back when the explosion took place. Here, even the mutated creatures are not many, but the ones that ARE, they are much stronger than the normal ones.

Ark takes flight. He also wants to see the damage made and if there are still some people left, but he teleported only a few miles from the city where the fight is taking place. So, in a few moments, he will be there.

On the way, he sees only destruction and bodies dismembered, thrown from the explosions made in the city, all the way here, the snow turning red from all the blood. He sees men, women, children, from all races, but most are human.

An angry look appears on his face. He knows that all these deaths of the innocent are because of him. Because in the games of the 'Monsters,' the lives of the weak don't matter.

He stops for a moment, puts his hand in front of him, and says:

"You all won't have to worry anymore. I am here. I will avenge your souls. I will make them pay for the injustice that you suffered."

Then the souls of the dead start to rise in the sky, and a milky white light surrounds them. They then disappear from this cruel world of unfairness, forever.

Ark watches them for a second, then starts to fly again.

When he gets closer to the city, he sees the shockwaves made from the fight. After a moment, he can see the fighters. He sees that on the human side, there is a fighter with a sword at the front, and two backing him up from behind, one with buffs, and one who fires ice spears at the Devil, trying to slow him down.

The one at the front with the sword is a demon. He is blue with white stripes on his arms and legs. He is two meters tall, with a muscular build and an exoskeleton on his body. He has four black eyes on his face: two at the normal place where humans also have them, and two beneath them, like where the cheeks would be on normal people. Between the eyes, there is no nose but some plates like steel. The mouth is also covered by the plates like steel, making his face look like a steel cage, with only his eyes visible.

In his hands, he holds a blue longsword. Every time he swings it, a gale forms from the sheer weight of it. The sword has two holes near the handle, and in the center of those two holes are two yellow stones. These stones have a force field around them, and inside that force field, yellow lights swirl, entering the stones. Every time the sword is blocked, the stones grow bigger and bigger.

Then Ark sees the one who gives buffs looking in his direction and thinks, 'He is sharp.'

He looks like a beastman, but somehow different. He looks like a Centaur, but with the body of a wolf. He has four legs with sharp claws, while his upper body looks like a normal man, the only difference being his sharp fang-like teeth and wolf-like ears. His eyes are a gray color, like the fur on his lower, wolf-like body.

Then Ark looks toward the one who fires Ice Spears. He looks the weakest of them all, but he gives off the deadliest feeling. Like a snake ready to strike at a moment's notice.
