Elise stared at me as if I had suddenly gone mad. Well, she even went ahead to ask me the question herself.
"Have you suddenly gone out of your mind?" she demanded to know.
Well, what could I even tell her? That my soul had completely gone black and there was no coming back from what I had become?
"No. I haven't gone out of my mind, Elise. This is only the beginning."
"Why would you want to kill innocent people instead of just focusing on him alone?"
"Oh, you mean Alpha Lucas? Well. I want to focus on him and his men. They have done a lot of bad things. And there is nothing that can wipe that stain off their dark hearts.."
"And you are about to get yourself drawn into that murk. I'm sorry, but I don't think that I can help you with your request."
I smiled at her. I knew she was going to say something like that. It was one of the reasons, obvious ones, why I didn't want to let her onto what I had in mind to do.
