I looked at Ryker.
"Ignore it," he said to me.
The knock came again and none of us said anything. In fact, the knock came a couple of times that I was tempted to get up and walk to the door to see who the hell was on the other side of it.
But Ryker kept his eyes on me, a challenging stare, as if daring me to push him.
I didn't. I just sat there until the knocking was over.
We waited for some minutes then he said, "Please, go on and enlighten me as to what you meant by the way I treat you."
"I am not your slave, Ryker. But you do treat me like one."
Ryker opened his arms wide as if he was some magician about to perform a conjuration. "I don't even keep any slave that you know of so I don't know what the hell you mean by me treating you as if you're my slave. Or are you trying to insult my personality?"
