[Log 45] {Sil} You know what, I'm curious. How did you two meet?
{Logan} Why the sudden interest?
{Sil} Well, I never thought you two would get together. Vicky even mentioned yesterday that you were struggling to even talk to her. As far as I could tell, you seem very… different from one another. Logan, no offense, but you're a shut in, and all Vicky wanted to do for the longest time was to leave the island.
{Vicky} Well… We kinda met because of you.
{Logan} Vicky is right. When Me, Peter, and Quinn first went to Blade island, we were in search of Vorden. Of course, we did not know we would also be saving you, but while doing so, I came across Vicky.
{Logan} On our way there, we all got separated, and I landed near the temple. While inside, I was healed by Vicky and we sparred.
{Vicky} I'm surprised you lasted as long as you did. I was young so I really didn't know how to hold back.
{Logan} You still don't and I'm into it.
{Sil} Okay but… I know for a fact that the way we left wasn't very… romantic, to say the least. I saw that we barely escaped with our lives, and you were also there preventing us from leaving.
{Logan} If that was the only time we met, we probably would've never gotten together. However, Hilston's invasion caused us to meet again. During the attack on the cursed ship, The Chained were released, the Blades were sent out, and chaos ensued.
{Vicky} Yeah… I'm not… Very proud of that time. Because my dad released The Chained, some of them escaped and a few of us inner circle members went on to try to capture them again.
{Vicky} While we were able to track some of them down by ourselves, we eventually needed some help. After the war, they were banding together, and we couldn't do it all by ourselves. I recalled Logan's technological prowess, and so I sent an invitation for us to meet up.
{Vicky} It worked for a while, we had meetings to discuss plans, then we started having them more frequently. We talked outside of those meetings, and eventually we started seeing each other as more than just co-workers.
{Logan} The Chained utilized the world's hatred towards Hilston. They told their story of being captured by that man and many took their side, including several big name factions. I'm sure you know the rest of that story.
{Vicky} There's not much we can do about the Chained now.
{Vicky} But despite it all, I'm glad we met.
{Sil} That was… surprisingly sweet.
{Sil} Hold on…
Outside of the digital logs, Sil was hunched over the keyboard. His eyes were blinking rapidly, tears were beginning to well up. He was glad that his sister found happiness despite what their father had done. The problem was that Sil was jealous of what his sister had.
He wanted the same thing. Not just having an amazing partner that one would choose for life, but finally being able to make peace with the past and move on. Sil wanted to move on. He wanted to forever abandon the thoughts of Hilston and the other Blades who allowed the torture to continue. Most of all, he didn't want to be alone with his thoughts anymore. He missed people. He missed his family and friends. He missed Vicky and Pai. He missed Vorden, Raten, and Borden. He missed Shiro. He missed Logan. He missed Fex. He missed Layla. He missed Erin, He missed Peter… And he really missed Quinn.
The ship was devoid of people as it usually was. Some of those thoughts crept in like how one wouldn't be able to notice their hair growing until it got in the way. He wiped away the tears, and took a deep shaky breath in.
Sil was happy for his sister and brother-in-law. But not happy for himself.
{Logan} What came up, Sil?
{Sil} Nothing, I thought I heard a weird noise. I just knocked something over by accident.
{Vicky} Ya got any other questions lil bro >:)
{Sil} Did you guys ever go on "proper" dates?
{Logan} There are several dates we've gone on, which ones should we mention?
{Vicky} What about the one where we ate spaghetti in a moonlit restaurant when the cherry blossoms fell down in the spring breeze?
{Logan} We never went on such a date.
{Vicky} Well yeah, because some guy was trying to start up some revolution saying he was following "Quinn's orders" and totaled the place. I'm still pissed about it, we had that place reserved months in advance.
{Vicky} He even ruined your cute suit…
{Logan} I could always buy another one.
{Vicky} But I picked out that one! I put a lot of thought into it.
{Sil} That doesn't sound like a proper date.
{Logan} This is because it was not. Vicky was simply venting her frustrations about a would-be date.
{Vicky} Logan's right… A more proper date would've been more like…
{Vicky} Logan! You remember that time we went to that one place with the zoo?
{Logan} About 95 years ago. It was located on one of the ex Bree planets. The beasts there were not very dangerous and were instead allowed to roam freely in fields.
{Logan} The zoo was left alone due to the fact that there were no beasts above an advanced tier.
{Vicky} We walked around, talked for hours, and saw the most gorgeous beasts. I even rode one that could fly!
{Logan} I pulled some strings.
{Sil} That sounds great. I wish I could've gone.
{Vicky} Yeah… I don't think the place is as maintained as it was back then. I'm not actually sure it's even still around.
{Logan} It still is by the remaining Bree family members and some of the 5th family members. They've faced some rough patches, but pulled through.
{Sil} I'd like to go. Maybe when we meet up.
{Logan} Scheduled. The tickets have been bought.
{Sil} How could you be so sure I'm even going in the right direction?
{Logan} Your navigation, although broken, sometimes pulses and I am able to see where you are for a few seconds.
{Logan} Don't worry, you're doing fine.
{Sil} Thanks. You don't know how much that means to me.
Sil leaned back in his chair, staring at the computer screen that held the logs. Opening one up before getting responses to whatever it was he was doing was one of the few things that brought him joy nowadays. Seeing that he was in fact going the right way brought a sense of comfort. Sil really wanted to see them again. There was only so much that finding an alien willing to fuck him could tide over the long travel time of the quiet ship.
He couldn't wait to get home.
