Eraser Head was on his way to UA. He had recently made up his mind to become a teacher. He had been working as a professional hero for the past Four years, and Nezu had finally convinced him to give teaching at UA a shot.
Along the way, he intercepted a 119 call about a random blonde child wandering around covered in blood. Being very close to the origin of this call, Eraser decided that he would investigate. He had time; he didn't need to be at UA for his teaching classes for another 40 to 45 minutes. Plus, maybe it would be serious, and he could get out of these insufferable classes for a day.
Arriving at the scene, he caught sight of a trail of blood leading down the pavement. People were walking around it, but they didn't seem to care all that much. Eraser followed the trail of blood, which led him to a park where he found a small child trying to wipe the blood off their body in a creek. Based on how pale the child was, they had definitely lost a lot of blood.
'Hey, kid, you might want to come with me so we can get you to a hospital. Those cuts look really bad, especially the one on your forehead.' Eraser Head continued to study the small boy, gathering information to try and conclude how they acquired the wounds.
'Screw off, hobo man!' the blonde yelled as they continued to scrub their arms. 'I can take care of myself. I've got better things to do than give money to peasants!'
Eraser Head's eye twitched. He had heard that insult multiple times before, but for some reason, it was annoying to hear it coming out of this blonde's mouth.
'Kid, I'm not going to argue with you. I'm a hero; it's my job to escort you to a hospital and to find your parents. Now come on, let's get moving. You have definitely lost a lot of blood, and I haven't drank enough coffee to deal with a loud-mouthed brat like you,' Eraser Head said as he approached the kneeling child.
Right before he could pick the kid up, the blonde jumped backward and began to yell at him, 'I'm not a kid! My name is Mordrid Pendragon, a knight of the Round Table! I am not a child or a brat!' As the blonde yelled, crimson lightning sparked across his body in an aggressive manner.
Eraser Head quickly activated his quirk, deactivating the child's quirk, and all at once, the child toppled over.
"Oh crap!" Eraser Head said as he rushed to check on the green-eyed boy. As he examined him, he realized that the hospital might be a little too far away. The kid's quirk was clearly being used in some way to keep him stable, and Eraser Head activating his quirk must have interrupted that system.
Picking the kid up, he rushed toward UA as fast as possible, hoping Recovery Girl wouldn't hit him too hard this time. As he rushed back, he began to dial Nezu's number. Ring, ring, ring, ring.
"Of all the times Nezu has to let it ring!" Then Eraser Head heard the dial tone. "Agh! You better pick up, you little white dev—" Click!
"What were you going to call me, Shota?" Nezu answered the phone with a pleasant smile in his voice.
"Nothing, Nezu!" Eraser Head squeaked. "It's not the time! I have a code 12 and I'm en route to the school!"
Nezu didn't answer; he just hung up the phone.
*Time skip:*
When Eraser Head arrived at the school, Recovery Girl was waiting at the entrance with a stretcher. Eraser Head zipped over, laying the blood-covered blonde boy on it. As they rushed inside, Recovery Girl inquired about the child, and Eraser Head relayed all the information he currently knew.
Eraser Head began to rummage through Izuku's backpack, looking for anything they could use to identify the child. They found a locked smartphone with cracks in its screen, several library books, and some notebooks with the writing "Izuku Midoriya: Hero Journal for the Future."
They relayed the information to Nezu so he could begin searching for the child's details.
*Time skip:*
Shota Aizawa, a.k.a. Eraser Head, sat with Nezu in the hallway as they searched for information on Izuku. Recovery Girl was in the nurse's office, bandaging wounds and giving the boy a blood transfusion. Before anyone asks, it was O-negative blood. With Quirks these days, most hospitals could keep a large supply of blood on hand. Do you think UA doesn't have better healthcare than a normal hospital?
Well, anyway, Nezu and Aizawa were trying to figure out who this blonde kid was. When they looked up Izuku Midoriya, the picture didn't match. Maybe the blonde kid was related to Midoriya, but even then, the blonde might have just stolen it from Izuku.
"You mentioned that you shut off the boy's quirk?" Nezu asked Aizawa. Aizawa looked up from his laptop, which he was using to try to find any information. Nezu continued his inquiry, "Did it have any distinct characteristics we could use to identify the child?" Aizawa thought back to when he first saw the aggressive crimson bolts. "Other than being angry red lightning? Not really." Aizawa continued to think until he remembered how the child collapsed when he activated his quirk. "They were able to jump a decent distance away from me before I activated my quirk. Then they kind of toppled over after I activated it." Nezu continued to think about Aizawa's observations. Just as he was about to bring up his thoughts, Recovery Girl burst out of the nurse's office. "You boys have to see this!" The two got up and hurriedly rushed into the room.
As they rushed inside, they found the blonde boy's hair was slowly turning dark green, and freckles seemed to pop into existence like pencil dots. "Well, we figured out why he had Midoriya's backpack." Nezu looked over the boy before making eye contact with Shota. Recovery Girl nodded in agreement with Nezu. "I'll go call his parents; I'm sure they're worried sick." After she left the room, Nezu motioned toward Izuku. His eyes seemed to say, "I'm putting you in charge of investigating his home life and school life." Aizawa nodded in silent agreement.
Time skip. "Again? How many times do you have to skip?" "Shut up, Murlin!"
Anyway, Nezu and Eraser Head were waiting outside in the UA parking lot. They were waiting for Mrs. Midoriya, who was apparently so worried that she was about to call the police to find her son. As they waited, they discussed the possible reasons for Izuku's physical changes. "More than likely, Midoriya has a mental disorder-created quirk, or MDCQ." Aizawa looked at Nezu with a questioning expression. "Basically, when a child goes through a traumatic experience at an early age, they can develop a mental disorder that doesn't just impact their mental health but can also affect their yet-to-be-activated quirk factor. Most of the time, this happens to children under or around the age of four, but because Izuku is quirkless, it happened at an older time in his life."
"So, what does that mean for the kid?" Aizawa looked back toward the nurse's office with a hint of worry.
"He's going to need psychiatric help as well as emotional support. That's why I need you to investigate his situation. All the information we can gather will help him recover or adapt to his circumstances." They saw a small orange car speeding into a parking spot as a frazzled-looking green-haired woman rushed out of the passenger seat, and a spiky-haired blonde woman rushed out of the driver's side.
"Where is my baby?! You said he was injured! Is he okay?! Does he still have all his limbs?! Is he blind?! Is he paralyzed?! Is he going to have to move around in a wheelchair?!" Mrs. Midoriya was speaking at a million miles a second. As Inko Midoriya gripped Eraser Head's arm as if she were trying to rip it off, the other woman walked over to Nezu to inquire about Izuku's situation.
"Hi, I'm Mitsuki Bakugo, Inko's friend. We were out looking for Izuku when you called; we were probably going to call the authorities any minute at that point. So, do you think you could tell us what happened to the kid?" Nezu nodded and began to lead the two ladies inside as he explained everything they knew.
Meanwhile, Aizawa was being used as a glorified stress ball by a nervous Inko Midoriya. As they approached the nurse's office, they saw Recovery Girl standing outside the doors. "The boy just woke up, but he's been pretty quiet. Based on how he acted when Eraser Head found him, I thought he would be yelling at me, but he's just kind of blankly staring at the wall." Unable to wait, Inko rushed into the room.
"Izuku, where have you been?! We were looking everywhere for you! Baby, tell me what happened!" Inko cried at the side of Izuku's hospital bed.
"Momma, I..." Izuku stared at his mother for a couple of seconds before he started breathing hard. His pulse quickened, and his heart started beating at a million miles a minute. Every time he tried to remember what happened, all he could see were people without faces, just two glowing dots on a blank mask staring at him. His school was full of them—the blank glowing eyes, and occasionally one would grow a creepy smile.
"No! Stop, I..." Izuku was freaking out. Recovery Girl pushed Inko away as she began to try to calm the boy down. He was clearly having a panic attack. Mitsuki held Inko back as she was freaking out.
"What's wrong with my baby?!?" Inko screamed. Before Recovery Girl could respond, Izuku froze. Everyone in the nurse's office watched as Izuku's freckles disappeared and his hair turned blonde. His eyes, which had previously been staring off into space, turned a bright shade of lime green. And before anyone could ask what was happening, Izuku started to yell, "Where the hell am I and who are you people?!"
