The adults in the room froze. The silence was almost deafening, if it weren't for one loudmouth blonde. "Hello! Who the heck are you people?! Hey, wait, you're that weird hobo man!"
Izuku stood up, causing Recovery Girl to freak out and yell at him to lie down. "Why do I have to lay here?! I'm perfectly fine!"
Inko approached her son with cautious eyes. "Izu, what do you mean, 'who are you'? It's me, your mother. Remember me? I'm Mommy."
Izuku observed Inko before shaking his head. "I don't know who you are, crazy lady, but my mom's hair is silver blonde, and she hates me!"
Inko froze again; her baby didn't recognize her. The blonde boy sat completely up and proclaimed in a boastful voice, "I'm Mordred Pendragon, a knight of the Round Table! I don't know who you peasants are, but I thank you for nursing me back to health!"
Nezu quickly pulled the room's attention to himself. "Eraser Head, could you please bring our two guest guests to Hound Dog? I think he'd be a great person for them to talk to while I have a talk with Sir Mordred."
Aizawa nodded and quickly escorted the two women out of the room.
After the nurse's office doors closed, Nezu approached Mordred, Nezu skittered up on a doctor's stool. You know, the kind that spins in a circle, and you sit on to see how it feels to be a doctor, but you end up just playing the whole time—yeah, that stool.
"Hello, Sir Mordred. My name is Nezu, and I'm the Principal of UA High."
Mordred observed Nezu with a curious look. "You're strange-looking for a Faye, aren't you? I've never seen a goblin or a gnome quite like you before."
Nezu smiled; Faye are deceivers and tricksters in Celtic mythology, and he thought that described himself very well. "You see, Sir Mordred, it appears that you've time-traveled into the future. You're about a thousand years in the future."
Mordred looked baffled by that information. As time passed, Nezu continued to inquire about everything Mordred remembered. Meanwhile, he was also communicating all this information to Hound Dog.
In Hound Dog's office, Ryo Inui was trying to calm down the two women who had been dropped off. One was crying about her baby not remembering her, while the other was getting progressively more frustrated. Aizawa was in the hallway outside, slowly heading back to the nurse's office. He felt bad for leaving the ladies with Ryo, but he didn't have enough coffee to deal with other people's emotions. He had a hard enough time trying to manage his own.
"I wonder what's going on with that kid?" Aizawa said as he walked through the halls.
Nezu was currently in a meeting with Hound Dog, Recovery Girl, and Eraser Head. It had been a few hours since the Midoriya boy had begun acting strangely. Nezu decided that instead of transferring Izuku to a hospital, he would keep him at the school to observe him. Nezu was intrigued; if Izuku developed what he suspected, he wanted to study and understand the process.
Ryo adjusted his position in his chair, clearly uncomfortable. "I just think that if he does have D.I.D., then it would be in our best interest to keep him close and suspect everyone. Childhood traumatic events are generally the cause of alters being developed." Nezu nodded at Ryo's suggestion; he agreed that keeping an eye on Izuku Midoriya for the next month to get a definitive diagnosis would be best for both him and his family.
"We also know from context that Izuku possesses at least two alters," Nezu said. Aizawa looked confused as he analyzed their conversation so far. "Two? Are we just assuming that, or is there something you're not telling us?" Nezu smiled. "I'm glad you asked, Aizawa. You see, Mordred has no memory of getting hurt. In other cases of D.I.D., there is a personality classified as a Gatekeeper. This personality keeps specific traumatic memories away from the other personalities, kind of like a parent." Nezu gestured toward his tea kettle. "I would advise us to get comfortable; we have a long meeting ahead of us."
**Time skip: one week later.**
Mordred was standing in front of a UA training robot. They had asked for a sword when Nezu requested them to show off their combat abilities and "quirk." Quirk is what modern humans call magic, as far as Mordred could understand.
Mordred started practicing sword swings to get a good feel for the weapon. After a bit of practice, Mordred signaled to the observers that they were ready to fight the robot. The robot began to whistle, and a low metallic hum resonated through the training room.
Nezu observed Mordred in the training room. Sitting next to him was Inko Midoriya. "It's interesting how proficient the boy is with a sword. You said Izuku was never taught swordsmanship?" Inko stared into the room, watching Mordred fight the training bot. "No, Izu never showed any interest in swordsmanship. But he did study the hero Spike Knight for a while."
Nezu picked up Izuku's hero notebooks, flipping through the pages. Finding the pages on the hero Spike Knight, Nezu looked over the notes. Spike Knight was a hero who lived over 50 years ago in Tokyo. He was known for his rather violent swordsmanship at the time. Izuku had dedicated an entire chapter to analyzing his swordsmanship and ways he believed it could be improved. As Nezu watched Mordred, he pulled up all the videos of Spike Knight. It was almost a one-to-one match; both Mordred and Spike Knight did almost the exact same moves.
"Interesting," Nezu nodded. "So his analysis and improvements were imprinted on Mordred. It's rather fascinating what the human mind can do."
Nezu, noticing that Mordred could take on the training robot without using their quirk, decided to up the ante. With a push of a button, three more training bots entered the room. Mordred continued to fight all three of them. They almost got punched in the stomach, but realizing it was a harder battle, Mordred activated their quirk and created distance from their opponents.
Inko was almost panicking as she watched her child nearly get hit. As the crimson lightning danced across Mordred's form, the child became faster and began to dominate the fight. Nezu, wanting to escalate the challenge, released a stronger bot. This seemed to irritate Mordred, who was bored with these toys. Positioning their sword right before their eyes, Mordred began to channel the crimson energy into the blade. Then they swung the blade above their head and began to chant, "This is the evil sword that destroyed my father… Clarent Blood Arthur!!"
A giant red laser slammed into the stronger bots Nezu had deployed. A crazy grin developed on Nezu's face. This was interesting; interesting indeed.
Sorry if this chapter is a little shorter than the other ones, I wrote it over the Course of three days. I could only write a little bit on Sunday cause I had Other Obligations. Monday, I basically had writer's block, Tuesday was similar. So today was the only day I really got anything done. So even If this chapter is shorter, I'm gonna release it now.
