Chapter 4 - She is back

Third pov

"Dad... did we do the right thing letting her leave?" Amana asks, biting her nails as she speaks on the phone.

"Why? Did something happen?" Her dad speaks, worried.

"She said she encountered wolves." Amana says, heaving out a sign as she walks back and forth, tensed. "Wolves?" The man questions, repeating what he heard.

"Yeah, she said she saved a wolf from being killed." Amana sighs, chuckling a little, "Did she come across them already?" The man asks, gasping.

"Hmm, I don't know. It's probably nothing because she saw wolves fighting in the wild on the way to the city." Amana adds, biting her lower lip, "But we can just be careful, right?" She adds, "Okay. I will think about it. Make sure she doesn't think too much of it."

"Okay, dad." Amana says, ending the call.

Just when she turns, her eyes widen as she finds Viotta standing against the door, "Wolf, you say?" Viotta questions as Amana chuckles, and says, "You startled me."

"Is she okay?" Viotta asks, walking towards Amana. "Should we have left with her?" Amana asks, ignoring Viotta's question, and Viotta shrugs off. "I mean, how long will she suffer in ignorance? I bet it's high time she understands who she is." Viotta says, taking in a deep breath.

"But what if she can't handle it?" Amana asks, looking away.

"Isn't that why we are here? For her?" Viotta says, placing her hand on Amana's shoulder and receiving a smile from her, "Don't worry, she will be fine. She is strong." Viotta adds, and Amana nods her head, smiling.

"You are right. We need to just be and support her." Amana says, nodding her head.

Just around the base of the hill, a little secluded but well-facilitated, a big mansion stood with guards up at prominent entrances.

Just then, a car pulls up the porch with the guards facilitating the gate, the driver walks out in a rush, opens the back seat, and helps a particularly wounded someone out of the car, "Sir, we are here. Let me help you."

With groans and grunts coming off of the man in pain, stifling his agony cry with a stoic facade, he helps himself out of the car making sure he holds onto the plastic bag he had and makes his way inside as the driver keeps up with the pace hoping to assist the man when deemed necessary.

"Oh my god!" Camille Audrey, Luna, and his mother yelp in horror as she rushes to the injured man.

"Luthien. What happened?" A male figure, Phillip Einar, the Alpha, and his dad, approach Luthien as the man takes in a deep breath, trying to come off fine, "Just had to deal with something, nothing more." He says, eyeing both the figures.

"Son, you should not have rejected her." The figure speaks, frowning as he watches his son huff, "You know nothing." Luthien growls, his eyes looking everywhere but at his dad. "But still you need a mate-" Luthien snaps his head, startling his dad with his dark, furious eyes as he excuses himself and walks upstairs.

Upon the man's disappearance, both the adults eye the driver for an answer, "Umm… Sir, he was attacked." The driver mumbles, scratching his head as he looks away, "We can see that. But what happened?"

"Alp-"

"Was it them?" The male asks, growing angry.

"Maybe… before we could figure out who they were, they ran off." The driver says, thinking out loud, "How are you untouched when my son is all injured? Isn't it …your responsibility to protect him?" The lady questions, anger on the tip of her nose.

"I-I… apologize, but I wasn't around him." The driver says, earning a scoff from both of them.

"Then where were you?" The male questions.

"I was driving us back to the mansion, but all of a sudden, sir asked to stop the car. I did and he was acting weird…" The driver says, tilting his head as he tries to remember the smallest details.

"He was?"

"Yes, and he sprinted off. I tried to catch up to him, but he was very fast. So, I got in the car and tracked his scent to get to him." The driver continues.

"That was when I saw him limping towards the car, all injured. I asked him what happened, but he stayed silent and asked me to stay silent." The driver says, the male heaves out a sigh, "If so, then you can leave."

The driver nods his head and walks out of the mansion. Camille walks closer and grabs his arm, "Honey… Do you think it's them again?"

"Maybe, there is a huge possibility. It wasn't enough that they stole from him, but now they want to kill him too?" Phillip says, gritting his teeth in anger, "We need to hurry and get it back before he grows weaker." Camille speaks, earning a nod from the man.

"If only he had let her stay." Phillip heaves out a sigh, shaking his head in disappointment. But to his dismay, there was a whole different scenario they were unknown to, and Luthien was dealing with it on his own. "He must have had his reason. Also, she wasn't his true-"

"Honey, what he needs now is strength and power. Anything other than that shouldn't be of concern. And, getting his core is our priority." He adds.

But a parent must care for their child, and they intend to do that, with all they have got.

"I am going to call an emergency meeting, we will formulate a plan."

-------

"Sir-"

"Leave me alone!" Luthien yells, tucking the tie out of his head and onto the sofa, placing the bag onto the desk before him, he takes in a deep breath and walks back and forth, his hands on his hips and his mind too lost in a daze.

He leans against the wall, heaving out a sigh, he grunts, feeling his mind disoriented, throwing a punch at the wall, he pulls himself away and goes back to walking back and forth.

"It's her." He mutters, closing his eyes as he takes in a deep breath, pushing his hair behind as he pokes the inner cheeks with his tongue. "Fuck." He mutters under his breath, recalling the encounter he had with the particular person he was reminiscing about.

"What got into me?" He mumbles, gritting his teeth as he controls his raging breath, calming his nerves. Pushing his hair back, he slumps down on the bed with his head against his palm and thinks aloud.

"She is back."

End of Third POV

 ----------

The building was huge, I can't believe the small local town from before is now such a developed city, I can barely find my way around, seeing how different it has become.

The company I got accepted into was still a developing company, but it had its roots deep and well-secured in the business sector, enough to threaten the other business companies, with increasing progress that has increased the threat and competition.

I feel glad to have been recognized by such an aspiring company. I look forward to working hard and paving my fortune with this place that believes in me. Taking in a deep breath, I gather my courage and walk in towards the reception.

"How may I help you?" The receptionist asks me, I smile at her and bow politely, "It's my first day at work, I was told to collect my work stuff from the reception." I say receiving a polite smile and an acknowledged gaze before she inquires my name.

Gathering my stuff, I walk towards the elevator. The more I walk closer to my dream, the more nervous I get; I am barely holding myself at this point. Excitement and nervousness just didn't define what I was feeling.

I grabbed my ID card, all giddy, I put it on myself. I already wanted to feel a part of this place and a head among the crowd.

The elevator opened, and I was greeted by a few people eyeing me, some even smiling at me before they walked out. I stepped in and pressed the 5th button, which was supposed to be the floor I was assigned to.

As I moved further inside the cubicle, more people started to walk in. Just then, everyone started gasping, and one by one, they walked out of the elevator and bowed their heads down, greeting someone. I tried to see who it was, but I couldn't make it out.

Feeling intimidated and so small, I stood by the corner with my head down. I felt my stomach churn and my skin crawl as my eyes caught sight of a pair of black shoes. Gushing, I looked up to meet a pair of dark brown eyes looking at me with such intent that I felt a shiver run down my spine.

"Uh, can you walk-" I heard the man behind speak, but was cut off when the intimidating man raised his hand, heaving out a sigh, he walked in and stood just before me, I could feel my chest heavy with how rarely I was breathing in the presence of the man.

Why was he affecting me so much?

He pressed a button on the 7th floor, and I prayed in relief, knowing we wouldn't be crossing paths; this ride up was taking so long.

"Uh, miss?"

I flinch, coming out of my trance to notice the man eyeing me with concern, "Y-Yeah?" I mumble, "Aren't you getting out?" He questions, I suddenly realize I had zoned out with my feet tapping against the floor, ah, so embarrassing.

"I am sorry." I apologize as I rush out, the intimidating man didn't even budge and stood glued, such a weird man. But he must be laughing internally at how stupid I seemed, ugh!

So, so embarrassing!

I hope we don't cross paths again.
