I didn't really know how to feel about this situation yet but I know the girl is speaking to me now. Would it be wise to tell her my name or should I come up with something?
"My name is Mason. Why are you chained up?" He asks with a curious tone.
I ended up giving my name without even thinking about it, but it's not that big of a deal I guess. Figuring out why she's chained up would be a pretty important thing to do.
It still doesn't make a lot of sense though since I was told that an artifact was here. She couldn't possibly be the artifact, right?
The girl goes silent for a few moments before finally deciding to speak again. "M..Mason. I see, I don't remember why I'm chained." The girl struggles to say at first.
"Makes sense that you wouldn't remember, do you have a name?" Mason asks with a curious look on his face.
Would it even be smart to free this girl? I don't know how strong she is or what kind of magic she can use. This could easily turn into a life or death situation if I'm not careful about everything here.
Nothing seems to be changing in the room around them but he starts to notice the girl has a worried expression on her face. "My name is... Huh I can hardly remember that either. This is all kind of scary to think about." The girl says with a bit of panic in her voice.
She doesn't have memory of anything here, including her name, how weird is that. Someone obviously chained her up here for a reason but I don't see what it could be.
Mason moves up to the chains and begins to examine them, realizing that they haven't aged whatsoever. It was almost surprising to see how they kept the same appearance for so long.
If these chains are magical it'll be a perfect test for my device since I don't think it'll break otherwise right? Magic infused chains could be a problem if the device doesn't work so here goes nothing.
He pulls out a strange looking cube and brings it up to the chains before pressing a tiny button on the device. Click. A strange blue light begins to emit from the device before piercing through the chain in a matter of seconds.
A bit of sparks fly off of the first chain before it falls onto the floor, her right arm was free now.
I can't imagine that it's pleasant to wake up to the sight of a place like this while being chained up with no memory of anything. I may come to regret freeing her but I don't have it in me to just leave someone like this.
Mom raised me not to be like that or at least that's what I believe in.
"You're really freeing me..?" She asks as the panic in her voice begins to fade.
"I don't think there's anything wrong with you and that you were imprisoned against your will." Mason answers while moving to the next chain.
He did the same thing for each chain before catching her as she falls towards the ground.
"I got you, but I can't force you to leave here with me or anything. You can do as you please." Mason says while sitting her down gently.
If she is the artifact that Lucy mentioned, I don't want to force her to do anything. It'll definitely suck for me to let her go but I'm not that kind of person.
Rumble! Rumble! The entire room begins to shake as the two of them sit there for a moment. "We definitely need to leave this room!" Mason shouts while picking her up.
I don't know how well she can run or even stand right now so I'll at least get her away from the danger before anything else. This girl doesn't even remember her name so there's a lot wrong right now.
I'd love to help her in any way that I can but I'm not entirely sure what someone without magic can do for her.
He made his way out of the cave with the girl in his arms, the sun was just starting to set as the two of them made it out there. The area itself seemed a little different from when he first came to it but that was the only noticeable difference.
After sitting her down he waits a moment to see if she'll speak. "You did save me from that cave and even released me from my shackles, I'd be happy to join you for now at least." She says with a bit of happiness in her voice.
He helps her stand up before speaking. "I'm glad you want to stick with me, are you going to be okay to walk now?" Mason asks with a bit of concern in his voice.
"I'll be fine. I just wish there was something for you to call me." She responds while looking down at the floor.
I guess I could always give her a temporary name until she does remember her own name. What would be a good name for someone as pretty as her? Wait what am I thinking about that for, just focus on the name Mason.
"Aria, I'll give you the name Aria for now until you remember your own name." Mason says with a slight smile on his face.
She thinks about the name for a few seconds before a smile grows on her face. "Aria. I like it, thank you." She replies kindly.
I don't know what awaits the two of us but I guess for now I've got myself a companion to join me on this journey. I'm not sure what Lucy will say about this so that will definitely be an interesting conversation to have.
Aria, it really isn't that bad of a name after all. I'll have to learn more about her.
